- The Hurts sneak remains elite. It gives Philadelphia a consistent chain-mover in high-leverage spots near midfield and the goal line.
Quarterback Play
Jalen Hurts opened 2025 with a highly efficient performance. He went 19-of-23 for 152 yards with 62 rushing yards and two scores in a 24-20 win over Dallas. He delivered on third down and protected the ball. Hurts’ dual-threat ability is amplified by a diverse ground game featuring Saquon Barkley. Hurts won Super Bowl MVP the last time he faced the Chiefs and will look to deliver another huge performance in Week 2.
Patrick Mahomes’ opener wasn’t a disaster. He was 24-of-39 for 258 yards and a touchdown, plus 57 rushing yards and a rushing score. But timing with new pieces is a work in progress and early miscues led to stalled possessions. If Xavier Worthy cannot go, Kansas City’s field-stretching threat shrinks, placing even more pressure on Kelce and Hollywood Brown to separate against tight coverage and post-catch tackling.

Final Thoughts
The Philadelphia Eagles should be able to play their brand of bully ball effectively against the Chiefs. Kansas City’s defense was a mess against the Chargers in Brazil. Asking them to turn it around against an Eagles team that can always get back on track with their running game is too tall a task in my opinion. I’ll take the Eagles to cover the number as a slight favorite and go against the revenge angle that many handicappers will overvalue.
