Key Storylines
- Giants’ quarterback change: After starting 0–3 under Russell Wilson, New York turned to rookie Jaxson Dart in Week 4. He responded by leading a thrilling 21–18 upset over the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers. Dart was by no means spectacular, but his ability to throw the ball and make plays with designed runs changes the Giants’ offense dramatically.
- Loss of Malik Nabers: The Giants enter this game without Malik Nabers, who suffered what is feared to be a torn ACL. That loss weakens the pass-catching arsenal for New York’s rookie quarterback.
- Saints remain in search of first win: New Orleans dropped their fourth straight game in Week 4, falling 31–19 to Buffalo. Spencer Rattler threw for 126 yards and one touchdown. The team ran for 189 yards, but still couldn’t overcome Buffalo’s offense. Their defense has allowed big plays on a regular basis this year.
- Dart’s first road start: The Saints will lean on their crowd and a familiar environment in the Crescent City. New York is a slight favorite but it will be interesting to see how Dart fares on the road.
Quarterback Play
Jaxson Dart (NYG): Dart showed dual-threat ability and the willingness to take matters into his own hands by running the ball when called upon. But he will need to handle himself well in his first road start as a pro here, especially without his top weapon in Nabers.
Spencer Rattler (NO): Rattler has completed 98 of 146 passes for 765 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception so far this season. He’s efficient but hasn’t been explosive. The Saints are lacking a consistent vertical threat with Rattler and struggle to force defenses to respect the deep ball.

Final Thoughts
The Giants got a nice win at home in Week 4 over the Chargers. But I’m skeptical about Jaxson Dart’s ability to perform on the road so early in his pro career in this spot. I was also impressed by the Saints’ effort to stay within shouting distance of the Bills on the road in their last outing. Give me the Saints at home to disrupt Dart and get into the win column for the first time this season.
