Key Storylines
- Chargers’ hot start: Los Angeles is 3-0 for the first time since 2002. They’ve taken down all three of their fellow AFC West teams so far. That is huge not just in terms of wins and losses, but in terms of potential tiebreakers later in the season.
- Giants offense in disarray: New York has been held to single digits in two of its three games and totaled just nine points at home against Kansas City in Week 3. Russell Wilson threw two interceptions in that game and the Giants will need him to be more effective to have a shot here.
- Defensive vulnerabilities: The Giants are allowing 27.7 points per game this season. Their defense ranks among the worst in yards allowed and passing yards allowed. Facing Justin Herbert might not fix things for them.
- Chargers key injuries and adjustments: Los Angeles lost Najee Harris to an Achilles injury against the Denver Broncos in Week 3. Mekhi Becton is also questionable with a concussion and offensive injuries could slow the Bolts down this week.
Quarterback Play
Justin Herbert has been electric so far in 2025. Over three games, he’s thrown for 860 yards, six touchdowns, and just one interception. He’s completed two-thirds of his passes and he’s averaged over eight yards per attempt.
Russell Wilson has not found much rhythm through three weeks as the quarterback of the Giants. Wilson has three touchdowns and three interceptions on the year and that is nowhere near good enough for New York. There’s also growing pressure for Jaxson Dart to step in and those rumblings will only grow louder if Wilson continues to struggle.
Betting Trends & H2H
- The Chargers are 3-0 straight up and against the spread thus far this season.
- The Giants are 0-3 straight up and 1-2 against the spread early on.
- Both teams have gone under the total in two of their first three games.

Final Thoughts
I would expect the Chargers to win this game and stay unbeaten. The Giants just don’t have the consistent offense needed to outperform Herbert and the Chargers right now. But instead of taking a side here, I think that the under is a better bet. Los Angeles’ defense will get pressure on Wilson and cause the Giants to struggle, allowing the Chargers to play a slow, methodical game en route to an under.
