Key Storylines
- Denver hits the road: Last week, Bo Nix’s passing was efficient in a win at home over the Cincinnati Bengals. But that game was in Denver, where the Broncos are now 2-0 on the season. The Broncos are 0-2 on the road this season and will try to get their first road win of the year here.
- Turnover battle: Philadelphia’s early-season success has leaned heavily on positive turnover margin and big defensive plays. If Denver can avoid giveaways, they have a shot.
- Short rest and travel: Denver played Monday Night Football at home this past week. This road trip will have less recovery time than usual for them. The Eagles get a full week to prepare at home and that could make things tough on the Broncos.
- Eagles dealing with edge injuries: Philadelphia could be thin at defensive end. Ogbo Okoronkwo is likely headed to IR after a triceps injury. Nolan Smith is already on IR. That limits their depth and might soften some of the pressure on Denver’s offense.
Quarterback Play
Bo Nix has shown flashes of dual-threat ability for the Broncos. He has seven touchdown passes and four interceptions on the season. He will be tested by Philadelphia’s defensive speed, especially if they can still generate pressure despite injuries.
Jalen Hurts has a high floor for the Eagles. He hasn’t thrown an interception yet this season and has piled up the rushing touchdowns early in the year as well. Denver has a very good defense, but the poise of Hurts is well-documented at this point.
Betting Trends & H2H
- Philadelphia is 3-1 against the spread heading into Week 5.
- The Broncos are 1-3 against the spread through Week 4.
- The Eagles have gone 2-2 in over/unders so far this season.
- Denver has stayed under the total in three of their first four games.

Final Thoughts
The Broncos have clearly struggled to generate enough offense to win on the road so far this season. Against the best, most physical team in football, I don’t see that changing this week. I will lay the points with the Eagles here, as they should be able to lean on the Broncos in the trenches and improve to 5-0 on the year.
