The 2025 3M Open will take place at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota from July 24–27. The field features far fewer stars than the field we saw for last week’s Open Championship. But there is still money to be made for both the golfers in this week’s field and those betting on them. Here, I break down this week’s PGA Tour action and make my 2025 3M Open prediction.

3M Open Preview
This week’s field lacks the star power that we saw at the Open. But Ryder Cup contenders like Sam Burns, Chris Gotterup, Maverick McNealy, and Wyndham Clark are all in this tournament. Burns enters as the betting favorite with odds of +1600. Gotterup and McNealy are right behind him at +1800. Gotterup is coming off of a top-five finish at the Open Championship. He will likely be a popuar pick this week despite his candidacy for regression.
Only one top‑20 player in the OWGR has entered this event. That makes this a great opportunity for players who are not big names to build confidence and earn a bigger cut of the prize money than they do in most tournaments.

3M Open Prediction
At this tournament not a single golfer is inside of +1500 to come away with the win. There are two competing schools of thought about the pricing here. On one hand, you may be tempted to take a favorite at a price that is much better than what you’d get betting a favorite like Scottie Scheffler at a bigger tournament. On the other hand, you could bet a long shot in a tournament where nobody is expected to dominate.
I am inclined to lean toward the latter and take a golfer that is at long odds to win this tournament. A name that sticks out to me is Sahith Theegala. Theeagla was hyped as someone who could be in for big 2025 season. His play has not lived up to that billing so far this year. But he does have a higher ceiling than most of the players in this field and could become a good value in a hurry at +6000 if he has a good opening round.
Final Thoughts
This week’s field is lacking depth and star power. For me, that means a great opportunity for someone like Sahith Theegala to get back to playing confidently. I think he will win the 3M Open while the red-hot Gotterup takes a step back after a very strong last month or so on the golf course.
