UAB Schedule Set to Get Much Tougher This Week

The UAB Blazers are 1-1 so far this season, but one could argue that is a disappointing start to their season based on their early schedule. The Blazers beat FCS Alcorn State in their season opener before getting beat by UL Monroe in their second contest of the year. Here, UAB has a chance to get back above the .500 mark, but they will need to pull a massive upset of Arkansas in order to do so.

In their loss to UL Monroe, UAB turned the ball over three times, while failing to force any turnovers from the Warhawks. They allowed a pick six in that game, which is one more touchdown that the Blazers scored for the entirety of the game. Arkansas Looking to Rebound From 2OT Heartbreaker

The Arkansas Razorbacks are also 1-1 to start this season. They beat up on FCS Arkansas Pine Bluff to start their season but they lost a double-overtime thriller against Oklahoma State in their last outing on the road. Arkansas will look to bounce back from that disappointing loss this week, as the Razorbacks look to take advantage of the recent struggles of the Blazers in order to move back above the .500 mark for the season.

Turnovers were also a problem for Arkansas last week, as they lost the turnover battle against Oklahoma State by a 3-1 margin. The Razorbacks outgained Oklahoma State by over 250 yards last weekend but those turnovers prevented them from capitalizing on such a big advantage. If the Razorbacks want to avoid an upset this week, they are going to need to figure out how to take better care of the football.
