Maryland enters this game off a strong season-opening performance. They defeated Coppin State by 22 and were clearly superior on both ends of the floor in that game. The Terps scored 83 points while allowing only 61. But that is what a team like Maryland is supposed to do against a team like Coppin State and we will learn more about the Terps here.

I’m going to go with Maryland to win and cover the spread on their home floor against Georgetown here. The Terps should have the upper hand in this beltway matchup thanks in large part to their defense. The Terrapins are ranked in the top 20 out of 365 Division I teams in KenPom’s defensive ratings going into this game. That defense is also the reason that I’m going to take the under in this contest, as Maryland should make it a long night for the Georgetown offense.
