Key Storylines
This contest features two desperate teams trying to help their chances of making the playoffs. Edmonton must win to maintain any realistic shot at the postseason. They don’t have much of a path even if they do win this game, but absolutely have to have this game.
Winnipeg is coming off a bye and is tied with the Calgary Stampeders for the third spot in the West. Winnipeg has owned this rivalry of late but will need to continue to play at a high level against the Elks to avoid having their playoff hopes harmed significantly.
Quarterback Play
Winnipeg enters this week with Zach Collaros back in action. Coming off an injury, his most recent outing saw him go 20/25 for 367 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. That was in a dominant 40–3 win over Hamilton. His return to the field for the Bombers could not come at a more important time in their season.
Edmonton’s quarterback is CFL veteran Cody Fajardo. In the Elks’ last win over Saskatchewan, Fajardo completed 18 of 23 passes for 305 yards. He has thrown no interceptions since Week 12 and has thrown just three picks on the year as a whole and will try to take care of the ball again in this important matchup.

Final Thoughts
Both of these teams are going to fight with everything they have to get an important win for their playoff hopes here. Consistency has been an issue for both of these teams and the team that can put together the most consistent 60 minutes of football here should get the win. I think this is a one-possession game in either direction. My best bet for this contest is for the Elks to cover the spread as a home underdog in what should be a highly competitive contest.
