Key Storylines
Recent form
Montreal enters off a one-point loss to the Edmonton Elks last week. QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson went 14-for-18 for 113 yards and a touchdown. But the Alouettes needed more from their signal caller and dropped to 2-3 at home after that defeat. The Als are 3-1 on the road and could be happy to be away from Montreal in a bizarre way here. They will need to find a way to win without their top two QBs after Bethel-Thompson was placed on the injured list.
BC is coming off a 41-38 overtime win over Hamilton. They are currently just above the playoff cutoff in the West. Nathan Rourke has looked good for the Lions of late and they will hope that continues as they aim to move up from fourth place in the West by the end of this week. The Lions will need to be better on defense for that to happen after they gave up 38 points in Week 10.
Quarterback play
It is entirely possible that I am going to be the starting quarterback of the Montreal Alouettes this week. Alexander and Bethel-Thompson are both out injured and the Als have signed Cameron Dukes to go alongside Caleb Evans and James Morgan. One of them will need to step in and perform under centre. Nathan Rourke has moved up to third place on the CFL passing yardage leaderboard for this season. He is improving as the season progresses and that could be great news for the Lions moving forward.

Final Thoughts
The BC Lions should be able to win this game at home against a Montreal team dealing with a less than enviable quarterback situation. But I don’t think this game is going to be lopsided either. BC’s defense has left me less than convinced and I think that Montreal will do just enough scoring to cover the spread despite all of their quarterback issues.
