The Saskatchewan Roughriders will host the BC Lions in the 2025 CFL Western Final from Mosaic Stadium in Regina. The Riders finished the regular season with the best record in the CFL. They will try to protect their home turf after getting last week off, with a spot in the Grey Cup on the line for both of these teams. Key Storylines
This is a fun clash of styles in the Western Final. BC has an explosive offense led by the dynamic Nathan Rourke. Saskatchewan isn’t nearly as explosive offensively but has the best scoring defense in the CFL through the regular season. We will find out if BC’s elite offense can get the better of Saskatchewan’s dominant defense.
Bettors should make sure to keep an eye on the weather report going into this game. Regina in November means cold temperatures and potentially windy conditions. That would not be ideal for BC’s pass-heavy offense. Rourke and the Lions are more than capable of overcoming the weather but every small obstacle counts with so much on the line in this one.
Quarterback Play
Nathan Rourke has been exceptional all year for BC. He has completed 70.4% of his passes (352 of 500) for 5,290 yards, 31 touchdowns, and a 112.2 passer rating in 2025. He also added 10 rushing touchdowns and 564 rushing yards. Rourke didn’t throw any touchdown passes in the Western Semi-Final against the Calgary Stampeders. But he did run for a touchdown and he didn’t throw any interceptions in that victory.
Trevor Harris of Saskatchewan threw for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions with a 73.6% completion rate. This will be the biggest test of Harris’ career as the Riders’ signal-caller and it will be interesting to see how he handles this stage.

Final Thoughts
The BC Lions enter the Western Final on a hot streak. But I think that hot streak is going to come to an end in Regina on Saturday night. The Roughriders have the best defense in the CFL and they should use that defense to keep Rourke under duress throughout the contest. I’ll lay the field goal with Saskatchewan to get them back to the Grey Cup for the first time since 2013.
