- The Mystics are 3-1-1 against the spread to start the season, but they will be without Shakira Austin and Brittney Sykes for this contest.
- Jewell Loyd cooked the Mystics in Washington earlier this season and should have another big game against them here.
In the first weekend of the WNBA season, the Seattle Storm picked up a win on the road over the Washington Mystics. On Saturday, the role of host will be reversed, as the Storm will host the winless Mystics. We’ve got you covered with WNBA betting picks for this Mystics vs Storm rematch from the Pacific Northwest.
This game will be played at 9:00 PM ET at Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics are 0-5 to start the 2024 WNBA season. Some of that has been due to some rough scheduling, as they have had to play the Liberty, Sun, and Storm already this year. But some of that is also related to the roster limitations for this team. And those roster limitations will be worse than usual on Saturday when looking at the injury report for this contest.
Shakira Austin is not with the team due to personal reasons, leaving Washington without their best interior player. On top of that, Brittney Sykes is listed as out for this Mystics vs Storm game with an ankle injury that has cost her the bulk of the season thus far. Without their best playmakers both inside and on the perimeter, it could be a long night for the Mystics on the road here.
Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm have not had the start to this season that they were looking for, going just 2-3 in their first five games. But they have won two of their last three after dropping their first two games to the Minnesota Lynx. More importantly, they are developing the chemistry necessary to have long-term success after bringing in Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith in the offseason.
Seattle will hope that they get a performance from Jewell Loyd similar to what she gave them in their last outing against the Indiana Fever. Loyd made 12 of her 24 shots from the field in that game, her first game shooting over 33% from the field this season. A more efficient Loyd will be key for the Storm this year, including in this game against the short-handed Mystics.
