Indiana Fever Betting Preview
The Fever face a significant hurdle in this game: their cornerstone guard Caitlin Clark is sidelined with a quad strain. She will not play on Saturday, though the Fever could have her back for their upcoming game on Tuesday. Before her injury, she was contributing an impressive 19.0 points and 9.3 assists per game. Indiana has managed a 1–2 record in her absence, splitting a pair of games with the Washington Mystics and losing to the Connecticut Sun during that stretch.
Coach Stephanie White has had to adjust the way her team plays offensively in Clark’s absence, giving more responsibilities to veterans like Kelsey Mitchell and forward Aliyah Boston. Mitchell stepped up with a prolific 24-point performance in their win over the Mystics on Tuesday. Boston, too, continues to deliver, averaging 15.9 points per game on an efficient 67.6% from the field. The Fever will need both players to maintain a high level of play if they want to earn a second win over the Sky in as many meetings early in the season.
For the Fever, getting DeWanna Bonner going offensively will also be a high priority. The third leading scorer in league history is shooting just 33.3% from the field during her first season with Indiana. With Clark out, Bonner finding cleaner looks will be a challenge, but would be incredibly beneficial for a team that could use her prolific scoring touch.
Chicago Sky Betting Preview
The Sky enter this game with momentum, having won two straight games over the Dallas Wings to improve to 2-4 on the season. They averaged 95.5 points per game in those two wins over Dallas, with their offense finally breaking out of the early slump that prompted questions about the moves they made after last season, including firing head coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Now the Sky will look for their first win against a team that isn’t the Wings on a huge platform, in a bigger arena than they usually play in, in a game on national television.
After a slow start to her season, Sky guard Ariel Atkins started to look like the player Chicago hoped she’d be in the last two games. Atkins averaged 21.5 points per game in the home-and-home sweep of the Wings. Some perimeter scoring should prevent teams from being able to clog the paint quite as effectively against the Sky offense, which could make life easier on the double-big lineup for Chicago that features Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese.
Cardoso and Reese combined for 31 rebounds over the last two games for Chicago, punishing the interior players for Dallas. Against an Indiana team that has Boston and more of an interior scoring punch than Dallas does, Cardoso and Reese will need to win the position battle against Boston’s post-ups and prevent her from catching the ball in dangerous scoring positions.
Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky Betting Odds
- Spread: Fever -4.5
- Moneyline: Fever -205, Sky +170
- Total (Over/Under): 168.5
So far this season, the Fever have gone 4-3 against the spread on the year. Chicago is 3-3 against the spread despite their dismal start to the year. The Sky will look for their third straight cover in this game, while taking advantage of one of the most dangerous offensive players in the league today.

Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky Prediction
This contest comes down to whether or not the Fever can generate enough offense without Clark on the floor. With all of the size on the court for Chicago, Boston should have a tougher night than usual. That will make this a jump shooting contest for Indiana, which we don’t like for them, given that their shooting consistency is lacking beyond Clark and Mitchell.
Prediction: This should be a one-possession game in either direction. We will take the points with Chicago as a home underdog, as they should keep this game close, and they could win the game outright as the eyes of the basketball world descend on them here.
Best Bets:
- Chicago Sky +4.5: They are starting to turn things around and should continue to play respectable basketball here.
- Under 168.5 points: Slower pace, interior focus, and a lack of Caitlin Clark suggest a game falling short of its total.
