We are ready for non-stop action in the world of sports on Monday, October 27, 2025, with the phenomenon known as the Sports Equinox. All four major North American pro sports leagues have games on the same calendar day, which is rare given the schedules for all four leagues. There is only one proper way to celebrate a Sports Equinox and that is to create a cross-sport parlay featuring all four leagues. You can find my 2025 Sports Equinox parlay below.

Commanders +10.5 over Chiefs
The Monday Night Football matchup on Sports Equinox day features the Washington Commanders visiting the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are 10.5-point favorites, with the total set at 48.5 points. Washington will be without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is sidelined with a hamstring issue. That means veteran Marcus Mariota will get the nod under center for Washington.
Kansas City enters at 4-3 after a 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week. Washington sits at 3-4 and has lost two games in a row coming into this Monday night matchup. The Commanders’ pass rush has quietly improved, recording 12 sacks over the past three games. Washington will try to get pressure on a Chiefs team that has Rashee Rice back as another weapon for Patrick Mahomes to work with.
Given Washington’s ability to pressure the quarterback and run the football, this feels like a tighter contest than the spread suggests to me. Kansas City should win, but Washington’s defense can keep the margin within 10 points.
Dodgers (-206) over Blue Jays
Game 3 of the 2025 World Series is in Los Angeles on Monday night, with the Dodgers and Blue Jays tied 1-1. Los Angeles is heavily favored to win and take a 2-1 series lead in this game. Shohei Ohtani is in the midst of a monster postseason, hitting .347 with five home runs in his last eight games. Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts are off to strong starts in this World Series and will be expected to contribute offensively in this game as well.
Toronto has been mediocre on the road in this postseason. They are hitting just .238 with runners in scoring position on the road in the playoffs. The Dodgers also have a bullpen advantage going into Game 3, especially after not being used in Game 2 thanks to a complete game from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. With home-field advantage, an elite offense, and superior pitching depth, Los Angeles is my pick to take control of the series and go up 2-1.
Bulls (-105) over Hawks
The Chicago Bulls host the Atlanta Hawks in one of Monday’s featured NBA games. The Hawks enter as slight favorites in this matchup. Chicago has started the season 2-0, looking good early, with Nikola Vucevic averaging a double-double for them during the early stages of the season.
Atlanta sits at 1-2 and has struggled on the defensive end, allowing 115 points or more in two of their three games. Trae Young is turning the ball over too often and the Bulls are aggressive defending the perimeter, which could be a bad combination for the Hawks. Chicago’s home-court advantage and frontcourt play through Vucevic should help Chicago to outlast Atlanta on Sports Equinox day.
Senators (-175) over Bruins
Finally, I will take the Ottawa Senators to get a win at home over the Boston Bruins to close out our cross-sport parlay to celebrate the Sports Equinox. Boston has been dreadful on the road to start this season. They are 1-3 away from TD Garden and their only road win of the year was in their first road game against the Washington Capitals.
Ottawa hasn’t been spectacular by any means this season. They are just 4-4-1 on the year. But the Sens have held their last two opponents to a combined two goals. I am expecting the Senators to get their third straight win here, at the expense of a Bruins team that is trending in the wrong direction early in the 2025-26 season.
What Is a Sports Equinox?
A Sports Equinox occurs when all four major professional sports leagues in North America (NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL) have games on the same calendar day. It’s one of the rarest scheduling coincidences in American sports. This is a rarity, though Sports Equinox events have become a little more common in recent years due to extended baseball playoffs and earlier basketball and hockey starts.
How Many Times Has There Been a Sports Equinox?
The first recognized Sports Equinox took place on October 17, 1971, when the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL all played on the same day. Since then, it has occurred 30 times. This happens most often in late October when the MLB postseason overlaps with the early weeks of the NBA and NHL seasons and the middle of the NFL season.
When Was the Last Sports Equinox?
The most recent Sports Equinox before 2025 occurred on Monday, October 28, 2024. This year’s event arrives just about one year later. For sports fans and bettors, it’s one of the most anticipated dates on the fall calendar.
With all four leagues in action and plenty of picks to be made across the board, there will be no shortage of excitement on Sports Equinox day in 2025. Our parlay above is a nice mix of risk and reward. Expect the Commanders to keep their game close in Kansas City, the Dodgers to handle business at home, the Bulls to continue their unbeaten start, and the Senators to capitalize on their home-ice advantage. With odds right around +800, I’m hoping for a fun and profitable Sports Equinox day.
