Key Storylines
- Washington defeated the New York Giants 21-6 at home in Week 1. But their offense didn’t look as explosive as it did a season ago. Washington will have to protect Jayden Daniels from Micah Parsons and the newly-revamped Green Bay pass rush.
- Green Bay destroyed the Detroit Lions in the first game of their season. Jordan Love and the Packers offense also didn’t look great in Week 1. But their defense looked excellent against the prolific offense of the Lions.
- Both of these teams made the playoffs last season and the Commanders made it to the NFC title game. This game is a huge opportunity to get a win over a fellow Super Bowl contender and get a leg up in potential seeding scenarios later in the year.
Quarterback Play
Jayden Daniels delivered a strong Week 1 performance, completing 19 of 30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown while also rushing 11 times for 68 yards. His dual-threat style is a lot different from what Green Bay saw against Jared Goff and the Lions. Daniels’ new weapon Deebo Samuel performed well in his first game as a Commander and that could help Daniels immensely in this contest as well.
Jordan Love was efficient against the Lions. He completed 16 of his 22 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Love did not need to do much in the second half given how much the Lions struggled to move the ball. This game will be more demanding of Love and it will be interesting to see how he does with that challenge.
