Key Storylines
- Cleveland arrives in Boston after a 3-1 start and appears to be building early momentum. Their lone loss came against another title contender in the New York Knicks. The Celtics are stumbling at 1-3 and looking to right the ship. They will try to build on getting their first win of the season against the New Orleans Pelicans in their last game.
- Boston’s injury picture is troubling: Jayson Tatum is ruled out due to right Achilles repair, while Jaylen Brown is questionable due to a hamstring injury. Boston will need Brown to suit up to provide leadership offensively.
- Cleveland is also undermanned going into tonight. Darius Garland (toe) and Max Strus (foot) are out, and Sam Merrill is ruled out of this game with a right hip contusion. We are not going to see the best of either of these teams due to injuries tonight.
- The Cavaliers should still have the edge in terms of their consistency in their starting lineup. Even with their injury issues, the duo of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley has been incredible to start this year. If they continue playing at a high level, the Cavs could overcome their injury concerns on the road.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Both teams are 1-3 against the spread to start the season.
- These teams are both 2-2 in over/unders heading into this contest.

Final Thoughts
Both of these teams are dealing with some major concerns from an injury standpoint going into this game. But someone has to come away with the win here and I think that team will be the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even if Brown does play in this game, Boston is lacking the scoring depth needed to hang with one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference right now. I’ll lay the points with Cleveland, as Mobley and Mitchell should lead them to a fourth win in five games.
