Tulsa vs East Carolina Odds
Spread | Moneyline | Total |

Key Storylines
- Tulsa’s offense has been sputtering. After upsetting Oklahoma State, Tulsa has struggled on offense. They have scored a total of 21 points over their last two games and will need to be better on that side of the ball if they want to have a chance to pull off an upset in this contest.
- Running back Dominic Richardson is Tulsa’s hope. He leads the team with 112 carries, averaging about 89.7 yards per game with two rushing scores. He’ll need a big day to keep Tulsa competitive.
- ECU’s passing game has taken a step forward. Katin Houser has been effective and he has support in targets like Anthony Smith. Houser has been one of the most prolific passers in the AAC this year and is a big reason that the Pirates are so heavily favored here.
- Defensive edges and explosive plays may decide the game. ECU’s defense has been stronger against the run and they pressure opposing passers more consistently than Tulsa does. That could be a decisive factor against Tulsa’s shaky passing game.
Quarterback Play
On the Tulsa side, they have alternated quarterbacks this season between Kirk Francis and Baylor Hayes. They have combined for only seven passing touchdowns through six games. Their passing game ranks outside the top 100 in both passing and rushing-based efficiency metrics, a problem that has only become worse over the last couple of weeks.
ECU’s Katin Houser has been more consistent. Through six games, he has thrown eight touchdowns against four interceptions. Houser has thrown for 1,689 yards going into this contest and he will try to put up another big passing number at home against the Golden Hurricane.

Final Thoughts
East Carolina should have no problem winning this game at home to get to 4-3 on the season. But I am going to take the points with Tulsa in this contest from Greenville. The Golden Hurricane have a ton of problems on offense, but their defense has been respectable for the most part this year. I think they will do just enough to keep this one within a couple of possessions.
