- Virginia opens at home against a Coastal Carolina squad that lost a substantial number of players via the transfer portal. Virginia finished 5-7 last season and will be looking to get a key non-conference win for their hopes of reaching six wins and getting to a bowl game this year.

I’m excited about Chandler Morris being the new quarterback at Virginia. He looked great with the Mean Green last season and should inject more life into the Virginia passing game than it has had since Bryce Perkins was their starter.
I recommend laying the points with Virginia in this contest. My projections have the Cavaliers winning this game by two touchdowns. They should make life difficult on an inexperienced MJ Morris and start their season with a win over the Chants on Saturday.
