- Ole Miss is riding momentum after a dominant Week 1 rout (63-7 over Georgia State) followed by a road win at Kentucky. That was a big test for Ole Miss to pass given that they lost to Kentucky at home early last season.
- Arkansas has started hot with blowout wins over Alabama A&M (52-7) and Arkansas State (56-14). Their SEC road opener presents a step up in level of competition after two cupcake opponents to start the year.
- Both teams have had very strong production at running back early in the year. Mike Washington Jr. has averaged over 10 yards per carry and has 195 yards through two games. Kewan Lacy has 246 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Which running game can sustain its level against tougher competition will be a key to this contest.

He has had two interceptions in each game so far this season and has to do a better job of taking care of the ball if Ole Miss is going to pass this test and their future challenges.
