Recent form
Montreal comes into Week 10 after a humiliating 34‑6 loss at home to the Roughriders last week. Their offence and defence looked completely outmatched and multiple key starters are on the injury report going into this game. That includes quarterback Davis Alexander, who is on the six-game injured list and will not be available for this game.
Edmonton comes into this week at 1‑6 on the year. They have lost three straight games coming into this week. The Elks are allowing just over 30 points per game this year and will need to get things fixed on defense if they want any shot at finishing somewhere other than last place in the West.
Quarterback play
Cody Fajardo is the quarterback for the Elks. He has replaced Tre Ford under center after Ford was benched by the team. Fajardo has not brought a meaningful improvement from Ford just yet. But he could do so against an Alouettes team that Fajardo spent plenty of time with previously in his career.
Montreal has leaned on McLeod Bethel‑Thompson at quarterback in Alexander’s absence. He struggled against the Roughriders, completing just 15 of 26 pass attempts for 126 yards with an interception in the Week 9 blowout. MBT has to be better if the Als want to get through this period of adversity at the quarterback position.

The Montreal Alouettes struggled in their last game against the league-leading Saskatchewan Roughriders. But every team in the league has struggled against the Riders this year. This game is a great opportunity for Bethel-Thompson and the Alouettes to bounce back and I think that is exactly what will happen. Montreal should cover the spread as a home favourite here.
