- The Mystics are without Karlie Samuelson, Shakira Austin, and Brittney Sykes right now, with Stefanie Dolson also questionable.
- The Aces offense has been spectacular since the return of Chelsea Gray to their lineup.
On Thursday night, the Las Vegas Aces will host the Washington Mystics in a game with one of the more lopsided point spreads in the WNBA this year. In this game, the short-handed Mystics will attempt to keep up with an Aces team that has been surging of late. Here, we’ve got you covered with our WNBA betting picks for Mystics vs Aces from Las Vegas.
This game will be played at 10:00 PM ET at Michelob Ultra Arena on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Washington Mystics
It has been a rough year for the Washington Mystics, as they enter tonight’s game with a record of 5-15. But they did get a win in their last game, coming back from a huge deficit in the second half to beat the Los Angeles Sparks. Here, the Mystics are up against a much tougher opponent as they face the two-time defending champion Aces.
Washington is missing so many key players right now, most notably Shakira Austin and Brittney Sykes. And they could be without another key player tonight in Stefanie Dolson, who is questionable to compete in this matchup due to an illness. Dolson has been one of the best three-point shooters in the WNBA this year and here ability to spread the floor from the frontcourt would be huge if she was able to play tonight. But whether she plays or not, this is a tough matchup for Washington.
Las Vegas Aces
Going into tonight’s Mystics vs Aces matchup from Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Aces are rounding into form. They have won five games in a row and have been much better offensively since Chelsea Gray came back from injury. Tonight, the Aces will look for a sixth straight win and another one by double-digits at that as they look to continue to climb the standings in the WNBA.
With Gray back on the floor, Kelsey Plum has had more opportunities to terrorize opponents of the Aces. Plum went for 34 points in the Aces’ win over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night, making six of her 11 attempts from three-point range. Against a Washington team that is missing arguably their best perimeter defender in Sykes, Plum could lead the Aces to another big offensive performance.
