The Washington Mystics travel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 to face the Indiana Fever in an Eastern Conference clash. Washington has been struggling of late, losing four of its last five games. Indiana looked lively early behind second-year sensation Caitlin Clark, but must adapt without the All-Star guard, who is expected to miss at least another week with a quad strain. The Fever have lost three straight games without Clark and will look to get back into the win column in this Mystics vs Fever matchup. With tip-off set for 7 p.m. ET, bettors will be choosing between Washington’s young core and Indiana’s home-court advantage and the rest of their talent in the absence of Clark.

Mystics vs Fever Preview
Washington’s offense still ranks near the bottom of the WNBA in efficiency, ranking in the bottom-three in the league in points per game. They average 76.9 points per game and are coming off of a game where they managed just 63 points at home in a loss to the New York Liberty on Friday. Brittney Sykes is averaging 21.7 points per game, but the roster around Sykes is inexperienced, which will produce huge swings in performance level throughout the year. Rookie big Kiki Iriafen is averaging 10.1 rebounds per game and her contributions will be huge against Aliyah Boston and the rest of the Indiana frontcourt.
The Fever offense has revolved around Clark’s pick-and-roll wizardry, so Stephanie White will have her work cut out for her if Indiana is going to snap their three-game losing streak on Tuesday. Indiana’s main concern has been on the defensive end of the floor rather than offense, though. The Fever allow 80.5 points per game this season and they have given up over 80 points in each game during their current losing streak. This game represents a great chance to end that streak of defensive woes, but the Fever will have to earn stops on the court for that to happen.
Offensively, look for the Fever to prioritize paint touches for Aliyah Boston in Clark’s absence. Boston is averaging 16.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, shooting just north of 65% from the field in 2025. Boston has shot 80% in two straight games for the Fever and she will need to continue to operate with efficiency if she is going to help the Fever get back into the win column.

Mystics vs Fever Prediction
With Clark sidelined, Indiana must generate offense through post touches and off-ball cuts, a plan that bears fruit only if Boston avoids early fouls and Kelsey Mitchell shoots well. Washington will crowd the paint, send soft doubles at Boston, and live with Indiana’s role players launching jumpers. On the other end, Sykes’ creation will be vital to Washington’s success, but she will need some help from the young players around her.
In my opinion, this is the game where the Fever break through without Caitlin Clark on the floor. Their depth on the interior and the perimeter scoring of Mitchell and DeWanna Bonner should be enough to offset the absence of their top star, while Washington continues to struggle on the road after going 1-3 away from home to begin their year.
Pick — Indiana Fever -3.5. A projected final score of Indiana 85, Washington 78 yields a cover for the Fever. Look for Boston to have another efficient game from the field and for Bonner to have her best game as a member of the Fever, as Indiana gets a much-needed victory.
