- Seattle is 5-1 at home so far this season and is coming off of a convincing win at home over the Connecticut Sun.
- Indiana’s struggles generating offense at the rim should continue against a very good shot blocking team in the Storm.
The Indiana Fever and Seattle Storm will meet at Climate Pledge Arena for the second time this season on Thursday night. The Storm won the first of those matchups and are favored to get another win tonight, which would help keep them in the top-four in the WNBA standings. Here, we give you our WNBA betting picks for Fever vs Storm from Climate Pledge Arena.
This game will be played at 10:00 PM ET at Climate Pledge Arena on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Indiana Fever
The last time we saw the Indiana Fever, they had a sizable second-half lead against the Chicago Sky. But turnovers and an inability to secure defensive rebounds resulted in them blowing that lead and losing to the Sky for the first time in three meetings this year. Now, the Fever will look to bounce back from that loss in Seattle, though they will have to do so against one of the toughest teams in the WNBA.
While all of the attention for the Fever is centered around Caitlin Clark, the health status of Temi Fagbenle will be key going into this contest for Indiana. Fagbenle has been out with a foot injury and the team has suffered defensively without her in the rotation. If she can return to action tonight, it would really help the chances of the Fever in a game where they are underdogs.
Seattle Storm
Noelle Quinn’s Seattle Storm played arguably its best game of the 2024 season the last time we saw them on the floor. They responded nicely to a slow start and ran away with their game against the Connecticut Sun in the second half. Tonight, they will look for a second straight win overall and a second straight win at home over the Fever on the season.
While defending Clark will be a huge key to success for Seattle in this Fever vs Storm matchup, our eyes are on the interior defensively for the Storm. Ezi Magbegor and Nneka Ogwumike are tasked with defending Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith, both of whom are capable of great things offensively for Indiana. If Seattle can limit their offensive production and put too much of the workload on Indiana’s perimeter scorers, the Storm could cruise in this one.
