The Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos will open the 2025 NFL season against one another on Sunday. Tennessee was the worst team in the NFL last season and are hoping that number one overall draft pick Cam Ward can help them turn things around. He will go up against a very good defense and one of last year’s top rookie quarterbacks in Bo Nix of the Broncos. Before kickoff from Denver, continue reading to get my Titans vs Broncos prediction for Week 1.

Key Storylines
- Cam Ward’s NFL Debut: The Titans have placed their trust in rookie quarterback Cam Ward. They selected him as the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ward has impressed during training camp and the preseason and has earned a leadership role alongside veterans Tony Pollard and Calvin Ridley. His performance will be heavily scrutinized in his first game as a pro.
- Broncos’ Defensive Strength: Denver’s defense led the league in sacks last season. They made the addition of rising talents like Jonah Elliss and will combine those additions to an existing core headlined by cornerback Patrick Surtain II. The Broncos’ defense will try to pressure Ward and disrupt the Titans’ offensive rhythm.
- Coaching Dynamics: Broncos head coach Sean Payton enters his third year with the team and aims to build on the previous season’s success. Titans head coach Brian Callahan is still in the early stages of his tenure and is seeking to establish a competitive team amidst a rebuilding phase.
Quarterback Play
Bo Nix is entering his second season with the Broncos and is expected to take significant strides in his development. If not for Jayden Daniels it would have been Nix winning last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Nix’s familiarity with the offense and the support of a strong receiving corps led by Courtland Sutton should enable him to effectively lead the Broncos’ offense.
Cam Ward’s inexperience at the NFL level presents uncertainties going into this game. He has shown promise but is facing a top-tier defense in his debut. That could pose challenges but it also can’t be worse than what we saw from the Titans’ offense a season ago.
Best Player Props
Player | Prop |
---|---|
Bo Nix | Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns |
Cam Ward | Under 19.5 Completions |
Patrick Surtain II | 1+ Interception |
Betting Trends & H2H
- This is the first meeting between these teams since 2022. Tennessee has won two straight matchups against the Broncos with very different rosters on both teams than they have now.
- TThe Titans have faced difficulties in early-season matchups. They have a 1-4 record in their last five games played in September. They are also 0-5 against the spread in their last five games against AFC opponents.
Titans vs Broncos Model Projection
- Score Projection: Tennessee Titans 17 – Denver Broncos 24
- Win Probability: Tennessee Titans 30%, Denver Broncos 70%
Final Thoughts
I think this game falls pretty close to a touchdown in terms of Denver’s margin of victory. Therefore, I don’t love either side when it comes to the point spread. Instead, I think that the under is the best bet in this contest as the Broncos will lean on their defense to get a win here against a rookie quarterback.
