Danny Silva vs Kevin Vallejos Preview
Danny Silva brings a nice balance of grappling and striking output to the Octagon. He averages 7.3 significant strikes landed per minute with 60% accuracy. His aggressive pace does also lead to him taking a ton of shots and that could be a concern in this fight against an opponent with knockout power. But Silva also lands over two takedowns per 15 minutes and could use that facet of his game to get Vallejos on the ground where his striking can’t be as impactful.
Kevin Vallejos is an explosive featherweight. He has had 11 of his 15 wins come by knockout and many of those knockouts have come in the first round. He stopped Seung Woo Choi in Round 1 in his UFC debut and will look for a similar showing in this fight. There are questions about Vallejos’ ability to perform against a higher level of competition and this fight will help to answer those questions one way or the other.

Danny Silva vs Kevin Vallejos Prediction
This could age poorly, but I think there is a ton of value in the underdog in this fight. Vallejos has looked impressive early in his pro MMA career but he has not faced an impressive roster of opponents so far. This is the biggest fight of his career thus far and I think that Silva has the experience and the versatility to make things tough on him.
I will back Silva as a sizable underdog to pull off the upset in this fight. Silva would be smart to try and get this fight to the ground to avoid getting into striking exchanges with Vallejos. If he can do that, he could easily win this fight, and that is what I see happening on Saturday night.
