Key Storylines
Pitching Matchup
Kevin Gausman has been a reliable starter for the Blue Jays this season. He is 7-8 and has a 3.99 ERA for the team with the best record in the AL East. Colorado’s Kyle Freeland has struggled throughout the season. He is 2-11 with a 5.26 ERA and low strikeout numbers. Freeland has allowed 131 hits in 104.1 innings and could get battered again in this game as well.
Key Players
- George Springer (TOR): Springer was recently named Player of the Week. He has been a standout performer and leads the Blue Jays in home runs with 18.
- Warming Bernabel (COL): Bernabel is hitting .400 since joining the Rockies and is one of the only sources of optimism for an otherwise depressing franchise.
Recent Team Streaks
- Toronto Blue Jays: The Blue Jays have won two games in a row and three of their last four games.
- Colorado Rockies: The Rockies have lost three games in a row and are the only team in MLB with 80 losses so far this year.

Final Thoughts
The idea of laying 2.5 runs in a sport as volatile as MLB isn’t exactly appetizing to me. But in this case it might just be justified. The Blue Jays are on fire offensively and that should continue against a Rockies pitching staff that doesn’t seem to have any answers for them. I’ll take the Jays to win big again and complete a three-game sweep in the process.
