Milwaukee Brewers vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction – 8/16/2025

The Milwaukee Brewers are in the middle of a winning streak that most baseball teams could only dream of. They have won 13 games in a row coming into Saturday’s matchup against the Cincinnati Reds. Milwaukee got a huge comeback to beat the Reds on Friday and will look to get a more straightforward win this time around. I have broken this game down from a betting standpoint and you can get my Brewers vs Reds prediction below.

Key Storylines

Pitching matchup

Quinn Priester has been a standout for Milwaukee this season. He has an 11-2 record and is maintaining a solid ERA under 3.50. He is looking to bounce back from a start where he gave up six earned runs to the New York Mets. Zack Littell is also having a solid season for his team. The former Tampa Bay Ray has an ERA of 3.60 on the year. He can be susceptible to giving up home runs but has done a good job on the mound for the most part.

Key Players

  • Milwaukee: Christian Yelich hit two home runs for the Brewers in their win on Friday. He is up to 25 home runs and 86 RBI for the season.
  • Cincinnati: Gavin Lux had a pair of RBI singles in Friday’s loss for the Reds. His ability to drive in runs and make contact will be important again in this game.

Recent team streaks

The Brewers are riding a 13-game winning streak. That winning streak is their longest of the season. The Reds have won three of their last five games. The Brewers have been dominant both straight-up and on the runline of late.

  • Milwaukee has taken a nine-game lead in the NL Central during their 13-game winning streak.

Brewers vs Reds Model Projection

Score Projection: Brewers 5 – Reds 3

Win Probability: Brewers 52%, Reds 48%

Final Thoughts

I tried taking the Reds over the Brewers in Friday’s series opener. And while that bet looked good for most of the game, I was burned by a late Brewers comeback. I’m not sure the Brewers will need as much drama to get a win this time around. I think Priester will have a good start for them and the Brewers will control this game more easily en route to a 14th straight victory.
