Key Storylines
- Pitching matchup – Brandon Woodruff will get the start for the Brewers in this game. Woodruff is 4-0 so far this season and has a 2.06 ERA. He missed most of this season due to injury but Woodruff has been great since making his return to the mound. Chicago will put Jameson Taillon on the mound. Taillon is 7-6 and has a 4.44 ERA for the season. He will need to be careful as he has allowed 22 home runs on the season so far.
- Key Players – The bullpens on both sides will be the most important key players in this contest. These teams will have played a game earlier in the day and that will mean having to use their bullpens in two different contests. How these teams manage their bullpens in Game 1 will have a big impact on Game 2.
- Recent team streaks – The Brewers won the first game of this series by a 7-0 margin on Monday. They will look for a second win in a row in Game 1 earlier in the day before this game takes place.

Betting Trends & H2H
- The Brewers split their only completed doubleheader of the season so far.
- This will be the first completed doubleheader for the Cubs this season as long as there isn’t another postponement due to rain.
Brewers vs Cubs Game 2 Model Projection
Score Projection: Brewers 4 – Cubs 3
Win Probability: Brewers 55%, Cubs 45%
Final Thoughts
Brandon Woodruff is operating at a high level going into this start for the Brewers. He has allowed just nine earned runs in total over his first seven starts of this year. The Cubs have been great at home this season, but I’m not convinced that they will be able to get the better of Woodruff here. I will take the Brewers to win the second game of this doubleheader behind a strong performance from their starting pitcher.
