Key Storylines
- Quarterback Play: UCF quarterback Tayven Jackson has thrown for 906 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. But he was benched for Cam Fancher in the Knights’ last game. Fancher went 28/49 passing with 222 yards and no touchdowns in last week’s loss to Cincinnati. It will be interesting to see how UCF handles the quarterback position this week. West Virginia quarterback Khalil Wilkins was held to just 81 passing yards and two interceptions in the Mountaineers’ last game against BYU. Wilkins can make plays with his legs but needs to be better through the air.
- Defensive Matchup: UCF’s defense has allowed 17.8 points per game, while West Virginia’s defense has given up 28.5 points per game. The Knights have a clear edge on that side of the ball and will try to use that to their advantage on their home turf.
- Losing Streaks: Both of these teams have lost three games in a row coming into this contest. The rules of college football require one of these teams to win this week, no matter how many overtimes it takes to declare a winner.

Final Thoughts
Both of these teams are struggling mightily right now and are trying to figure things out at the quarterback position. I’ll lay the points with UCF here, as they are 3-1 on their home turf so far this season. The Mountaineers are 0-3 on the road this season and should continue to struggle away from Morgantown here, as UCF will snap their three-game slide on Saturday.
