- Auburn’s new quarterback Jackson Arnold has been effective so far this season both with his arm and with his legs. He has done a good job of avoiding turnovers early in the season and he is expected to play a clean game against a Sun Belt opponent here.
- South Alabama won its first game of the season over FCS Morgan State and followed that up with a two-point loss at home to Tulane. Tulane at home was a tough test and Auburn on the road is expected to be even tougher.
