Key Storylines
Louisiana’s offense has struggled mightily, especially through the air. They rank near the bottom in FBS in passing yards per game. Their quarterbacks have been unable to generate a consistent rhythm. They were held to just four passing yards against Missouri last week and will try to rebound from that performance here.
Eastern Michigan is 0-3 and they have a loss to FCS Long Island University among those three straight losses. The Eagles have struggled on defense so far this year, allowing 42.6 points per game entering this contest. They will need to get better on both sides of the ball if they want to avoid a fourth straight loss to begin the season.

- Louisiana: Daniel Beale has struggled through the air this season. He has 91 passing yards through three games and the Ragin’ Cajuns are going to need to find a way to move the ball more effectively through the air if they want any shot at a win this week.
- Eastern Michigan: Their QB has hit more reliable metrics. Noah Kim has been decent for the Eagles, with 767 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. Against a struggling Louisiana team, Kim could have a breakout performance this week.

Final Thoughts
Louisiana enters this game as a slight favorite, but their recent performances raise serious doubts. Their passing game is one of the worst in FBS so far. Eastern Michigan has struggled on defense but they should be able to key in on the run and get stops that way. I’ll take the Eagles to get a win at home as a slight underdog here, as they should get their first win of the year after a dismal 0-3 start.
