The Horseshoe Hammond Casino is a riverboat casino in northwest Indiana. Vici Properties owns the casino, while Caesars Entertainment holds the license for the property.
The Horseshoe Casino features a sportsbook and various slots and table games. The casino is also part of the Caesars MyRewards system, where you can earn rewards for playing casino games here.
The Horseshoe is on the banks of Lake Michigan. The venue is about fifteen miles southeast of the Chicago Loop. It is accessible from Illinois Exit 107 or Indiana Exit 0 on I-90.
The Horseshoe Hammond Casino was formed in 1996 as the Empress Casino. The property was acquired by the Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corporation in 2001 and was rebranded to its current name. Harrah’s Entertainment acquired the Horseshoe in 2004. Harrah’s was rebranded as Caesars Entertainment in 2010. Caesars sold the property to Vici Properties in 2017, but Caesars continues to hold its operating license.
The Horseshoe Hammond Casino has a sportsbook from Caesars Sports. The Book is a 5,300-square-foot sportsbook and racebook with a video wall featuring sixteen flat-screen televisions. You’ll find plenty of seating areas around the sportsbook, including recliners.
You will find various betting kiosks at the Book, or you can use one of the teller stations during operating hours. You can check the latest betting lines at one of the monitors on display under the video wall.
The sportsbook also features various printouts that will help you see what odds are available for today’s events and future games. You can use these printouts to strategize your bets or to see what futures wagers are available.
The Book is open at 11 a.m. each day and closes at midnight on Fridays to Sundays and 11 p.m. every other day.
You can place bets on many sports at the Horseshoe sportsbook, including on events in Indiana and around the Chicagoland area. Some of the sports available for wagering include:
The television screens around the sportsbook air sports from around the world, including many on NFL Sunday Ticket and other subscription packages. You can also catch local sports on NBC Sports Chicago, the Marquee Sports Network, and other platforms while at the sportsbook.
You can place various bets while at the Horseshoe sportsbook. These bets include:
You can cash in your winning tickets at the Book during regular hours. You can also cash in any winning tickets under $600 at the casino cashier station while the Book is closed.
While there are many mobile sports betting options available throughout Indiana, the Horseshoe Hammond Casino does not support mobile betting. The Caesars Sportsbook App and mobile betting service are only available in New Jersey and Nevada.
The casino floor at the Horseshoe Hammond Casino features more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space.
There are more than two thousand slots and video poker machines at the casino. The Horseshoe has more than 1,500 penny slots, plus high-roller games with denominations of up to $1,000.
The video poker machines support multiple denominations. You can wager as little as five cents on a game, or up to $5 on a hand.
