Four teams remain in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, and the semi-final picture couldn’t be more compelling. Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain have been imperious all the way through the knockout rounds, while Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid each bring a credible case for going further. The final is at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on May 30. Below, I reveal my 2026 Champions League bracket, and reveal why I have PSG as an early favorite to retain their title heading into the semi-finals.

My Champions League Semi-Final Predictions
PSG vs Bayern Munich, Leg 1: Apr 28, Leg 2: May 6, Munich
PSG: 0.4 goals allowed per UCL game. 4-0 aggregate vs Liverpool in the quarter-final.
Bayern: 157 goals in 46 games across all competitions. Harry Kane: 50 goals this season.
Bayern arrive as the most prolific team in Europe, scoring at 3.4 goals per game across all competitions and putting 16 past opponents in 4 UCL knockout ties alone. Kane has 50 for the season, Olise has 18 goals and 25 assists, and they exposed PSG in their league phase meeting in November, winning 2-1 at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique knows exactly what’s coming in the second leg in Munich.
PSG’s case rests on the other end of the pitch. Their 0.4 goals allowed per Champions League game is the best of any team remaining, and they kept Liverpool out entirely across both quarter-final legs. Pacho and Marquinhos have been elite as a centre-back pairing all campaign. The home first leg gives PSG the chance to set the tone before the tie moves to Bavaria.
Early pick: PSG to advance.
Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal, Leg 1: Apr 29, Leg 2: May 5, London
Arsenal: 5 goals conceded in 12 UCL games. Won the league phase meeting 4-0 in October.
Atletico: Beat Tottenham 7-5 on aggregate in the round of 16. Beat Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate in the quarter-final.
Arsenal have been the most defensively sound team in the competition all season, conceding just 5 goals across 12 unbeaten Champions League matches, and their 4-0 win over Atletico in the league phase in October shows they can hurt this side. They lead the Premier League by 6 points and arrive as the technically superior team on most metrics.
The case against is harder to dismiss than it looks. Atletico have bounced back sharply from that October defeat, winning their next three league phase games before dismantling Tottenham and Barcelona in the knockout rounds. Simeone’s side haven’t lost a Champions League knockout home game since March 1997, and the Metropolitano first leg on April 29 is designed for exactly this kind of tie.
Early pick: Atletico to advance.
My Champions League Futures Pick
My favorite: PSG to retain the title (+250)
PSG grew into this competition on the way to the title last season, and the signs are again ominous for Bayern and their potential final opponents. They swept Liverpool aside 4-0 on aggregate, conceding nothing across both legs, and they’re coming into the semi-finals as fresh as any team left in the draw thanks to Ligue 1 cancelling their league games to protect the league’s UEFA coefficient. Luis Enrique has built something special, with a pressing system that works just as well without the ball as with it.
Bayern will make it a contest. They’ve scored 157 goals in 46 games across all competitions this season, Kane has 50 on the year, and their attack is arguably the best in Europe. However, PSG’s defensive solidity is the best in the competition by a distance, conceding just 0.4 goals per Champions League game. Bayern showed they’re vulnerable to elite attacking play in their heart-stopping win over Real Madrid, while William Pacho and Marquinhos look like an elite center-back pairing in Paris.
I’m backing Paris Saint-Germain to reach the final in Budapest and defend the title from there, regardless of who emerges from the other side of the draw.
Prediction Markets Angle
Source: Polymarket, UCL Winner market, $217M total volume. Prices as of April 17, 2026.
| Team | Price | Implied probability | Upside if win |
|---|---|---|---|
| PSG | 26¢ | 26% | +285% |
| Atletico Madrid | 12¢ | 12% | +733% |
| Bayern Munich | 35¢ | 35% | +186% |
| Arsenal | 28¢ | 28% | +257% |
Our view: Buy PSG. Buy Atletico. Hold Bayern and Arsenal.
Prediction markets are pricing both PSG and Atletico well below where they should be given the stage of the competition. Four teams remain, so a perfectly even field would put each side around 25%.
PSG are sitting at 26 cents on Polymarket, which is roughly in line with that baseline, but when you factor in that they’re the reigning champions with the best defensive record in the competition and a home first leg to come, that price looks light.
They’ve conceded nothing in the knockout rounds and Luis Enrique’s side tend to get sharper as tournaments progress. There’s value in a team that’s already done it once and looks better placed than the market is giving them credit for.
Atletico at 12 cents is the more interesting play. The market has them at less than half the implied probability of Arsenal, despite the fact they’re in the same semi-final and have home advantage in the first leg.
Simeone’s side just beat Barcelona to get here, and they have won 13 of their last 16 Champions League knockout games at home. Arsenal should fear their visit to the Metropolitano. If they come through that tie, their price will move sharply and traders who bought at 12 cents will be sitting on a strong position heading into the final.
Kalshi, the CFTC-regulated US prediction market, also carries a UCL winner market with the same contract mechanics. Shares are priced from 1 cent to 99 cents and resolve at $1 if the team wins.
