Paris Saint-Germain are overwhelming favorites at the Parc des Princes, which makes it difficult to find much appeal in the traditional moneyline or spread markets. Instead, the Slovan Bratislava card market offers a more interesting way into the game.
Two players stand out in particular: Alen Mustafić and César Blackman.
Mustafić immediately caught my attention because of his disciplinary numbers.
The 27-year-old midfielder has already collected two yellow cards in 292 minutes of Champions League qualifying this season. He also picked up another yellow in Slovan’s most recent domestic game against DAC Dunajská Streda — despite only entering the match in the 70th minute. He was booked just two minutes later.
That is the type of profile I want when looking at a player-card market.
A central midfielder against PSG could also find himself repeatedly trying to stop transitions, close down players between the lines and break up attacks after Slovan lose possession.
The problem is his place in the starting XI.
PSG’s own pre-match analysis currently expects Peter Pokorný and Cristian Martínez to start in midfield, with Rahim Ibrahim or Danylo Ignatenko completing the trio. Mustafić is specifically mentioned as a possible option from the bench.
Other predicted lineups do have Mustafić starting, so his status is far from certain.
That makes Mustafić to be carded at +200 a bet I like considerably more if his name appears in the starting XI.

César Blackman presents a very different argument.
There is considerably more confidence that the Panamanian will start at right-back. He started Slovan’s most recent league match and has started five of their six Champions League qualifiers this season.
He has also picked up two yellow cards in 505 Champions League minutes.
But the main attraction isn't Blackman’s card rate. It is who should be playing directly in front of him.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
If PSG use Kvaratskhelia from his usual position on the left, Blackman could spend large stretches of this match isolated against one of Europe's best one-on-one attackers.
That is exactly the matchup where a fullback can end up taking a professional foul after being beaten, arriving late into a challenge or simply accumulating enough defensive pressure to eventually find the referee’s notebook.
And the price reflects considerably more upside.
Blackman to be carded is currently available at +240, an implied probability of roughly 29%.
That doesn't look like a price caused by doubts over whether Blackman will start. He is one of Slovan’s most established defensive players, and PSG’s own match preview expects him at right-back.
Instead, the market appears to be pricing Mustafić as the naturally more card-prone player while asking bettors to pay a little more for Blackman’s specific matchup.
Blackman has the clearest matchup angle
César Blackman is expected to start at right-back, which should put him directly against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for long stretches. That is exactly the type of matchup that can force a defender into late or tactical challenges.
Mustafić has the stronger card profile
Alen Mustafić has collected two yellow cards in 292 Champions League qualifying minutes and was also booked shortly after coming off the bench in Slovan’s most recent league game.
The lineup matters
Mustafić’s place in the starting XI is less certain. If he starts, his stronger card profile makes him a genuine alternative to Blackman. If he is on the bench, Blackman becomes the clear pre-match selection.

Confirmed lineups will be crucial. Blackman is the preferred pre-match pick, while Mustafić becomes particularly interesting if he starts.
There are therefore two ways I would approach this market.
César Blackman to be carded (+240) is my preferred pre-lineup bet. His starting position looks relatively secure, he has already received two cards during Slovan’s Champions League campaign, and the prospect of defending Kvaratskhelia for much of the night makes the price particularly appealing.
Alen Mustafić to be carded (+200) becomes the other play if he is confirmed in Slovan’s starting XI. His card frequency has been higher than Blackman’s this season, and a starting role in central midfield against PSG would put him in an ideal position to accumulate fouls.
I wouldn't necessarily play both blindly before the teams are announced.
But if Mustafić starts, I think we have two genuinely interesting card angles in a game where the traditional betting markets offer very little value.
