The Montréal Canadiens will host the Washington Capitals on Thursday night at Bell Centre. Montréal is looking to halt a four-game slide, while Washington aims to get a third win in a row with a win in this matchup. Before the action begins in Canada, you can keep reading to find my Capitals vs Canadiens prediction for tonight.
Pick: Canadiens Moneyline
Confidence: ★★★★☆
The Canadiens enter this game on a four-game losing streak and have struggled to finish close contests. They have scored six total goals over those four games and will need to be better at finding the net to end their losing streak tonight. Washington has won three of its last five games and has won two games in a row. The Caps are on the second game of a back-to-back and will have to overcome that to win this game.
Montréal is likely to turn to Sam Montembeault. Montembeault has struggled this season, posting a GAA of 3.56. He will need to improve that starting with this game to help the Habs win games more consistently. Washington is expected to counter with Charlie Lindgren in net after Logan Thompson played on Wednesday night.
Player | Stat | Prop |
|---|---|---|
Cole Caufield (MTL) | Goals | Over 0.5 |
Nick Suzuki (MTL) | Assists | Over 0.5 |
Tom Wilson (WSH) | Points | Over 0.5 |
Under normal rest, I think that the Capitals would have a great chance to get a road win here. But the fact that Washington is playing for the second night in a row should hurt their chances of coming away with a win in this matchup. I'll take the Habs to win at home in this game, as they should end their four-game losing streak and right the ship momentarily.
