The Minnesota Vikings will travel to face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon in an NFC North division matchup. With Green Bay sitting at 6–3–1 and Minnesota at 4–6, this game has meaningful playoff implications for both teams. The Packers are favored at home and they will try to hand the Vikings their third straight loss. Here, you can find my Vikings vs Packers prediction before these rivals do battle in Green Bay.
This game is more than just a divisional battle, it’s a huge game in the race for the postseason. Green Bay has been solid overall and has a strong home-field advantage. They will try to keep the pressure on the Bears in the race for the NFC North title with a win here. Minnesota is trying to right the ship after a rough stretch and is trying to keep its Wild Card hopes alive.
Green Bay’s running game could be affected by the injury to lead back Josh Jacobs. He is dealing with a knee injury and is listed as “day-to-day.” If he’s limited, that could change how the Packers look to run the ball and how much they will have to depend on the passing attack to win this contest.
Minnesota's offense has struggled over the last couple of weeks. The return of JJ McCarthy didn't help them move the ball more effectively, as they have been held under 20 points in back-to-back games. The Vikings will try to unlock Justin Jefferson more effectively to try and win this game and help their playoff chances in the process.
Jordan Love has been a steady hand for the Packers. He’s thrown for over 2,400 yards this season, with 15 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions. He’s shown the ability to handle pressure and make key throws when it matters. McCarthy has completed just 52.9% of his passes this season and he has not thrown for 250 yards in a game yet this season. Minnesota needs him to be more dangerous through the air to have a chance here.
Green Bay enters this game with clear advantages when comparing the two offenses in this game. I'll lay the points with the Packers, as they should get a big win to move closer to the top of the NFC North while the Vikings slide closer to missing the playoffs.
