Super Bowl LIX First TD Scorer Prediction: Xavier Worthy (+1100)
Our pick for the Super Bowl 59 first TD scorer market is Xavier Worthy of the Kansas City Chiefs. We aren’t going with the chalk of Saquon Barkley or Travis Kelce in this market, even though they are both great red zone options for their respective teams. Instead, we are going with Worthy based on what we have seen from him throughout his rookie campaign, including this postseason run for the Chiefs.
Worthy had a touchdown in each of his last two regular season games before sitting out in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos. He has also scored in one of Kansas City’s two playoff games, finding the end zone against the Buffalo Bills. After scoring in three of his last four games, and having a catch of at least 20 yards in each of his first two career playoff games, we like Worthy as a live option to score first in this game at better than +1000 odds.
At longer odds, it is worth considering Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert at +1800 to score the first touchdown in the Super Bowl. The Eagles are loaded with so many explosive offensive players. But Goedert is an underrated option to gain yards after he catches the ball and to turn a short catch into a long gain for a touchdown.
