Two clubs heading in different directions meet in Philadelphia on Thursday as the Sacramento Kings visit a 76ers group that is above .500 and in playoff contention in the Eastern Conference. The Kings’ offense has slumped for long stretches, while Philadelphia is trending in the right direction with its group of stars back on the floor. Here, I break down this inter-conference matchup in the NBA and have made my Kings vs 76ers prediction below.
Our Kings vs 76ers Pick

Key Storylines
- Form and records: Sacramento is 12-36 and just 3-20 on the road. They were blown out by the New York Knicks in their last outing and will try to rebound from that here. Philadelphia is 25-21 with a 13-13 home record and a positive point-differential trend this month.
- Top scorers: Tyrese Maxey is averaging 29.2 PPG with 6.8 APG, while Zach LaVine leads the Kings with 19.5 PPG. DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis will be keys to the success of the Kings in this game as well, while Paul George and Joel Embiid are expected to play in this game and that will be huge for this matchup.
- Style contrast: The Kings rank near the bottom in made threes and overall offensive rating, while the Sixers’ offense sits mid-pack but benefits from a strong free-throw rate and late-clock shot creation from Embiid and Maxey.
- Frontcourt notes: Philadelphia has mixed Andre Drummond and Joel Embiid minutes as availability allows, keeping a size edge on the glass most of the time. Sacramento’s best interior work has come from Maxime Raynaud and Sabonis, with Precious Achiuwa also contributing off the bench.

Score Projection: Sacramento 110 – Philadelphia 125
Win Probability: Sacramento 34%, Philadelphia 66%
Final Thoughts
The Sixers are playing better basketball lately, now that their top trio is on the floor together at this point in time. I'm going to lay the points with Philly here, as the size of the Sixers should neutralize Sabonis somewhat, while Maxey will torch a Kings team that has been dismal on the road throughout the season.
