Heisman Trophy Market Movements: Trinidad Chambliss Makes Big Move

The 2026 Heisman Trophy race is already producing major movement at prediction markets, with three players beginning to separate themselves from a crowded field. Polymarket pricing has shifted sharply through the opening weeks of the college football season as traders react to breakout performances, major wins, and changing expectations for the top contenders.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has made the biggest jump, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith has moved into the top three, and Miami quarterback Darian Mensah remains near the top after entering Week 3 as the market favorite. The rapid changes illustrate how little separation there is at this point in the season and how quickly one standout performance can reshape the Heisman futures market.
No Heisman contender has experienced a more dramatic recent move than Trinidad Chambliss. The Ole Miss quarterback was priced at only 7% on Polymarket entering Week 3, putting him well behind the leading group. Following his performance against LSU, Chambliss surged all the way to 18%, making him second in the most recent Polymarket board.
The reason for the move is easy to understand. Chambliss delivered one of the biggest individual performances of the early college football season as Ole Miss defeated LSU 32-24. He completed 33 of 48 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns while also contributing a rushing touchdown. Doing it against a highly regarded LSU team gave the performance substantially more weight than putting up similar numbers against an overmatched nonconference opponent.
His position could still be volatile. Ole Miss has considerably more SEC championship competition ahead, creating both opportunities and risk. Strong performances in those games could keep Chambliss near the top of the board, while one poor outing could produce the type of rapid decline that has already affected other early-season contenders.
Jeremiah Smith has taken a different route up the Heisman market. Instead of one massive price spike, the Ohio State wide receiver has gradually strengthened his position with consistent production.
Smith is priced at 9% to win the Heisman at the time of this writing. The percentage increase itself is modest, but movement elsewhere on the board has helped push him into the top three behind Chambliss and Mensah.
His position is particularly notable because quarterbacks traditionally dominate Heisman futures markets. Smith does not have the advantage of touching the ball on every offensive snap, meaning he generally needs exceptional receiving numbers and major performances in Ohio State's biggest games to compete with quarterbacks producing hundreds of yards each week.
So far, Smith has given traders reasons to keep him near the top. He opened the season with 151 receiving yards and two touchdowns and followed that with 164 yards and another touchdown against Texas. Even with Ohio State experiencing an early loss, Smith's individual production has remained strong enough that his Heisman pricing has held up.
Darian Mensah entered Week 3 as the Heisman favorite on Polymarket, with his price reaching approximately 18% following an exceptional start to his first season at Miami. He has moved up to 19% over the past week, as Miami's offense is playing at a high level early in the year.
He immediately created momentum by throwing for 401 yards and five touchdowns in Miami's season opener against Stanford. Mensah followed that performance with 252 yards and three touchdowns against Florida A&M while completing 14 of 15 passes. His efficiency continued against Wake Forest, where he again produced multiple touchdowns in a win.
That leaves the Heisman market very competitive heading deeper into the season. Chambliss, Mensah, and Smith are all in contention thus far. Meanwhile, other candidates like Arch Manning and Gunner Stockton also among the top competitors at the quarterback position.
