Key Storylines
- North Carolina enters as a slight road favorite, laying around 3.5 points with the total hovering near 152.5. But they are missing one of their top weapons in Caleb Wilson, who is injured, which hurt the Heels significantly against NC State.
- Syracuse is coming off a lopsided loss to Duke that exposed issues on the defensive end. But Duke is one of the best teams in the country and Syracuse could rebound from this one.
- The Tar Heels won the first meeting this season by double digits and have had recent success in the series.
Key Players
Syracuse Orange
- J.J. Starling: The lead scorer for Syracuse, averaging 12 points per game while shooting efficiently from the perimeter. He carries much of the offensive responsibility and must produce against Carolina’s length.
- Donnie Freeman: An interior presence who contributes close to double-figure scoring and strong rebounding numbers. His ability to finish inside and defend without fouling is critical.
- Naithan George: A versatile contributor who chips in scoring and rebounding. His mid-range game and ability to control tempo help Syracuse stay competitive.
North Carolina Tar Heels
- Henri Veesaar: A consistent interior force and double-double threat. He anchors the rebounding effort and provides efficient scoring around the rim.
- Jonathan Powell: A valuable perimeter shooter who adds spacing and scoring punch off the bench. His ability to knock down open looks keeps defenses honest.

Final Thoughts
Syracuse will benefit from home court at the Dome, but they will benefit even more from Wilson being out for North Carolina. The Tar Heels' ability to end possessions with rebounds diminishes significantly with him out and I'll go with Syracuse to come away with the win at home in this ACC showdown in Central New York.
