Key Storylines
- Nebraska enters the contest with a 22-4 overall record and an 11-4 mark in Big Ten play. After opening the season 20-0, the Cornhuskers have dropped four of their last six games, creating urgency for them down the stretch.
- Penn State is 11-16 overall and just 2-14 in conference action, placing the Nittany Lions near the bottom of the league standings. They most recently lost at home to Rutgers and it looks like this season can't end soon enough for the Nittany Lions.
- Nebraska is in a three-way tie for third place in Big Ten standings this year. They will try to figure things out here to avoid seeing their conference tournament seeding take a huge hit as the regular season nears its conclusion.
Key Players
Nebraska Cornhuskers
- Pryce Sandfort: The sharpshooting wing has broken Nebraska’s single-season 3-point record and is converting at 40% from beyond the arc. His perimeter accuracy stretches defenses and creates space for teammates.
- Rienk Mast: A versatile interior presence who contributes both scoring and rebounding, Mast helps anchor Nebraska in the paint while also facilitating from the high post.
Penn State Nittany Lions
- Josh Reed: Reed recently poured in 22 points in a losing effort and remains Penn State’s most dependable scoring option. His ability to create his own shot will be critical against Nebraska’s perimeter defense.

Final Thoughts
Nebraska’s defensive efficiency, superior rebounding, and perimeter shooting create a sizable gap between these teams entering Saturday. While large spreads always carry risk, Penn State’s road struggles and defensive shortcomings align poorly against a home favorite that thrives from beyond the arc. I am going to lay the points with Nebraska, who should bounce back nicely from their loss to Iowa.
