Maryland voters approved the legalization of sports betting through a referendum during the November 2020 general election, and the activity was officially legalized when then-Governor Larry Hogan signed House Bill 940 into law on May 18, 2021.
Today, both online and retail sportsbooks are available to residents and visitors of the Old Line State, offering a wide range of betting options on various sports and events for anyone who is aged 21 years or older.
The legalization of sports betting has opened up opportunities for operators to enter the Maryland market, leading to increased competition and innovation in the industry.
Here is a full list of alternatives to bet365 Sportsbook MD:
To legally operate and accept wagers on sporting events within Maryland's borders, operators are required to hold a license from the State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
Therefore, before bet365 can launch in the Old Line State, it must first undergo a thorough vetting process and receive approval from the state's gaming regulatory authorities.
This way, Maryland ensures that all sports betting operators, including bet365, meet stringent regulatory standards designed to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the industry. The helps to prevent illegal gambling activities and ensures that operators adhere to responsible gaming practices.
DraftKings, FanDuel, ESPN BET, and all of the other sportsbooks listed in the previous section have already secured licenses, demonstrating their compliance with Maryland's regulatory requirements.
After testing Bet365 Maryland, it’s clear why this operator has such a strong global reputation. The sign-up bonus is one of the most player-friendly in the state you only need to risk $10 to unlock $150 in bonus bets, and you get them whether that first bet wins or loses. The betting interface is smooth, the live betting experience is excellent, and the odds are consistently competitive across major sports.
That said, there are areas where Bet365 still lags behind some U.S. rivals. The biggest drawback in Maryland is the lack of an online casino, which means sports betting is the only option right now. The bonus bet expiration window (7 days) also feels a little short compared to some sportsbooks that give new users more time.
Overall, Bet365 Maryland delivers a polished sportsbook that caters to both casual players and seasoned bettors, with room to grow if the casino product eventually goes live.
