Funrize is one of the world's most popular social casinos. It's currently available in over three dozen U.S. states and gives you free access to 1,000+ casino-style games. But before signing up, most players ask the same question: Does Funrize actually pay out real money?
We'll cut right to the chase: Funrize Casino isn't a traditional gambling site, but players can still potentially win cash prizes through its sweepstakes-style promotions. Continue reading as I cover everything there is to know about how Funrize works and the potential for real money winnings on the site!
The first thing you should understand about Funrize? It isn't a traditional online casino. You can't wager real money on the site, so that means you can't directly withdraw any winnings either.
Instead, Funrize is a free-to-play social casino that lets you explore a wide range of slots and fishing games. Plus, you can redeem virtual winnings for cash prizes/gift cards through the casino's unique sweepstakes gaming model.
When you play games at Funrize Casino, you won't be wagering any real money. Instead, you'll use two types of virtual currency: Tournament Coins (TC or TRN) and Promotional Entries (PE).
Here's a quick breakdown of how it all works:
🟡 Tournament Coins | 🟢 Promotional Entries | |
|---|---|---|
🎮 Game Mode | Tournament Mode | Promotional Mode |
🎯 Purpose | Used for fun and entertainment | Let you enter sweepstakes contests for free |
💵 Monetary Value | None | • 100 Promotional Entries (PE) → 1.00 Winnings |
🎁 How to Get Them | • Daily wheel spins | • Daily wheel spins |
💰 Can You Buy Them? | Yes ✅ | No ❌ (But 100 FREE Entries are typically provided for every $1.00 spent on TC) |
🎰 Playable Games | No restrictions (all slots, jackpots, fishing games, etc.) | No restrictions (all slots, jackpots, fishing games, etc.) |
If Funrize's dual-currency system seems a bit familiar, that's because it's basically the same one being used at Chumba, Stake.us, High 5, and 100+ other social casinos in the U.S. today.
The only difference is that "Tournament Coins" are usually called "Gold Coins," and "Promotional Entries" are usually known as "Sweeps Coins."
Also, instead of redeeming Promotional Entries for prizes, you'll redeem your "Winnings" (that's what Funrize calls their redeemable Sweeps Coins) from any of the games you played in Promotional Mode.
If you have any other questions about how things work, I'd recommend checking out our Funrize Casino review for a more complete breakdown.
By now, you should have a pretty decent understanding of how Funrize Casino works. Let's now turn our focus to the process of winning/redeeming prizes. If you're hoping to do more than just play for fun, here are the steps you can take to potentially win some real money on the site:
1️⃣ Head to Funrize.com and register for a new account.
2️⃣ Claim free Promotional Entries through the social casino's no-deposit bonus for new players.
3️⃣ Buy any Tournament Coins package to unlock the possibility of prize redemptions. The purchase will come with more FREE Entries included.
4️⃣ Start playing games, and you'll see your "Entries" be converted into "Winnings" as you rack up some wins in Promotional Mode.
5️⃣ Reach the minimum redemption threshold for gift cards (25.00 Winnings) or cash prizes (100.00 Winnings).
6️⃣ Find the "Redeem" button in your account menu, and request your first prize redemption.
7️⃣ Complete the quick KYC verification process to verify your age, identity, and address.
8️⃣ Receive your Prizeout or Amazon gift card via email. Or get your cash prize delivered via ACH or PayPal. It should only take a day or two.
This may seem like a lot of steps, but it's what you'll need to do in order to redeem prizes at Funrize Casino. Plus, the good news is the process will get a lot quicker and simpler after your first time through.
Yes — Funrize is a legit social casino that’s legal in most U.S. states.
It doesn’t offer real-money gambling like traditional online casinos, but it does give players a chance to win real cash prizes through its sweepstakes-based model. Because no purchase is required to play, it stays in line with U.S. regulations and is considered a safe, legal option for entertainment.
All the games on Funrize are 100% fair and come from over 20 respected software providers in the social casino world. That includes big names like Pragmatic Play, BGaming, Betsoft, NetGame, and Novomatic, so you’re getting high-quality, professionally developed games you can trust.
Funrize takes player safety seriously. You’ll find Responsible Play Settings like reality checks, spending limits, cool-off periods, and even a self-exclusion option if you need a break. These tools are easy to set up and are designed to help you stay in control while playing.
The site is pretty upfront about how everything works. You’ll find clear explanations about how Promotional Entries and Winnings function, all laid out in their Terms of Use, which are linked at the bottom of every page on Funrize.com.
Funrize has a Trustpilot score of 3.6 out of 5, which is solid for a social casino. It shows that most players have had a good experience, though — like any platform — there’s always room to improve.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably wondered if Funrize really follows through when it comes to real-money payouts. The short answer? Yes they do.
Players can redeem their winnings for real gift cards or cash prizes, and the platform has a solid track record of honoring those redemptions. It’s not instant, and you do need to go through a few steps before you can cash out… but the system is totally legit. Funrize Casino always sticks to its word, as long as you stick to the rules.
Now let me walk you through exactly what those rules and requirements look like:
✅ Players must be 18+ years old and live in an eligible U.S. state (see list in "Terms of Use").
✅ You must make a purchase ($4.99 or more) before redeeming any prizes.
✅ All Promotional Entries come with a 1x playthrough that must be met before they are converted into redeemable "Winnings."
✅ You'll need to provide photo ID and proof of address before cashing out.
✅ There's a minimum redemption limit of $25 for gift cards and $100 for cash prizes.
How would you like to boost your chances of turning bonus spins into real money prizes at Funrize? While luck always plays a pretty big role, a few smart decisions can definitely help to improve your odds. Here are some tried-and-true tips that'll help you get the most out of your free entries:
One of the best ways to stretch your Promotional Entry balance is by choosing games with a higher RTP (Return to Player) percentage. You can usually find the RTP listed in each game’s prize table or info section. The higher the RTP, the better your long-term odds. So, I'd say it’s definitely worth checking before you play.
Not sure how one of the games works at Funrize? Or do you just want to test out some of its bonus features for fun? Try it in Tournament Coin mode first. Doing so helps you get comfortable with the gameplay before switching to Promotional Entries.
Funrize gives out a ton of freebies and offers plenty of special deals — from daily login rewards and daily wheel spins to slot tournaments, referral bonuses, and Tournament Coin package discounts. Taking advantage of these offers gives you more ways to play (and win) without spending extra money from your wallet.
Keeping tabs on your Winnings helps you stay focused and make smarter decisions. Set small goals (like reaching a certain threshold before redeeming), and note which games/strategies work best for you. A little planning can go a long way when you're hoping to win some real prizes.
If (for whatever reason) Funrize doesn't feel like a good fit for you, that's alright! No worries. There are plenty of other great sweepstakes casinos out there that give you a chance to win real money through sweepstakes-style promotions.
