I’ve reviewed a lot of social casinos over the last few years, and after a while, a lot of them honestly start to feel the same. Near carbon copies of one another, just under different brand names. FreeSpin Casino was a little different, though.
After creating an account and testing the site, I found a few things, both good and bad, that helped separate it from a lot of competing sweepstakes sites. In this FreeSpin Casino review, I’ll break down the bonuses, games, prize redemptions, and overall user experience to help you decide if it’s worth trying.

Author’s Take: Is FreeSpin Social Casino Worth a Try?

“FreeSpin Casino definitely has a lot going for it.
It has one of the largest live dealer sections I’ve seen at a social casino, support for Bitcoin and nearly a dozen other cryptocurrencies, and a pretty unique “FunZone” feature where you can play mini-games, complete missions, and exchange Tokens for rewards.
That said, it’s not perfect. The low Trustpilot score is definitely a concern, and the cap on winnings from free spins (typically 2 SC for every 5 spins awarded) is something the site doesn’t explain very clearly upfront.
Still, if you’re looking for a newer social casino to try, FreeSpin is a solid option worth considering.”

How Does FreeSpin Social Casino Work?
FreeSpin uses a promotional sweepstakes model and dual-currency system, like the other top social casinos in the U.S.
You play with Gold Coins (GC) for fun and entertainment, and these can’t be redeemed for real prizes no matter how many you win.
And you play with Sweeps Coins (SC) for a chance to win real prizes like cash, crypto, and gift cards. These are redeemable at a rate of 1 SC = $1.00 once they’ve been played through at least once (1x playthrough requirement) and you’ve reached the minimum redemption threshold.

You can get GC and SC for free through FreeSpin’s welcome bonus and ongoing promotions (more on those in the next section). The site also lets players purchase Gold Coin packages at any time, with Sweeps Coins included as an added bonus alongside the purchase.

| 📅 Daily Login Bonus: | Scratch & Win Mini-Game (available every 24 hours) |
| 👥 Refer a Friend Bonus: | 5 free SC spins for every referral + 100 free SC spins if they make a $10+ purchase |
| ✉️ Mail-In Bonus: | 1 SC per request card |
| 👑 VIP Program: | Yes (invite-only) |
| ✖️ Playthrough Requirement: | 1x |
No Deposit Bonus
FreeSpin Casino gives new players a free no-deposit bonus after sign-up. The offer includes 200,000 Gold Coins and 20 Sweeps Coin free spins on the Gorilla slot by DiceLab, with each spin valued at 0.10 SC.

In other words, the Sweeps Coin portion of the bonus is basically worth 2 SC total, which is pretty in line with what most other social casino welcome offers currently provide to new players.
That said, I was able to turn my 20 free spins into 3.23 SC during testing, so there’s at least some upside if the spins go your way.
First Purchase Bonus
FreeSpin social casino also lets new players choose between three different first-purchase bonuses, or “Starter Packs” as the site calls them.
The first two offers are pretty similar: 200,000 GC + 20 SC for $8 and 200,000 GC + 20 SC for $10. The $8 version is the better value of the two, though it’s only available during the first hour after creating an account.
There’s also a third option that includes 750,000 GC + 75 SC for $50.

Technically, the first two packages offer better overall Sweeps Coin value based on the standard rate of 1 SC provided for every $1 spent. The $8 package works out to 150% extra SC, while the $10 version is closer to 100% extra SC.
That said, the $50 Starter Pack includes the largest total amount of SC out of the three offers at 75 SC (25 extra SC included). So, the better option really just depends on whether you want the best value or a larger Sweeps Coin balance upfront.
Ongoing Promotions for Existing Users
I also noticed that FreeSpin Casino has a few other promotions available for existing users beyond the welcome offers. These include:
- Scratch & Win: FreeSpin doesn’t have a traditional daily login bonus, but it does offer a free mini-game called “Scratch & Win” in the site’s “FunZone” section. You scratch off a virtual card and try to match three symbols/icons to win prizes like Gold Coins, Sweeps Coins, free SC spins, and Tokens (Tokens can be exchanged in the FunZone Store for different rewards and bonuses).
- Missions, Tournaments, & Leaderboards: The FunZone section also includes tabs for missions, tournaments, and leaderboard competitions. Missions are task-based challenges where you complete certain objectives for rewards. One example I saw was called “Lucky Trail,” which awarded 45 free SC spins on The Oracles Fortune after playing through 77 SC within a 48-hour period. The tournaments and leaderboards work pretty similarly to what you’ll find at most other social casinos: you play eligible games, earn points, climb the rankings, and receive prizes like GC and SC based on where you finish.
- Refer-a-Friend Program: This is actually one of the better social casino referral programs I’ve come across. You get 5 free SC spins on Starlight Travellers for every friend who signs up using your referral link, and they don’t need to make a purchase for you to receive the reward. Then, if they go on to spend at least $10, you receive an additional 50,000 GC and 100 free SC spins on Starlight Travellers.
- VIP Program: FreeSpin doesn’t appear to have a traditional loyalty rewards system with public tiers and progression levels tied to gameplay. However, it does have an invite-only VIP program. I couldn’t find much information about it, but customer support told me, “Once your account qualifies, our VIP host will reach out to you directly.”

Coin Purchases
If you’d like to buy Gold Coins at FreeSpin Casino, you’ll just need to tap the “Get Coins” or “Coin Shop” button.
From there, you can go ahead and build your own package, which is actually a pretty neat feature that you don’t see very often at social casinos.
You simply enter the amount you’d like to spend, and the site automatically generates the amount of GC and SC included (based on the standard rate of 10,000 GC and 1 SC for every $1 spent).

There are also several pre-built purchase options available, and some of the higher-priced packages include a few extra SC on top of the standard amount. For example, the $500 package includes 525 SC instead of the usual 500 SC.
FreeSpin Casino accepts traditional payment methods like debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The site also supports all of the most popular cryptocurrencies, including:
- Bitcoin
- BNB
- Cardano
- Dogecoin
- Ethereum
- Litecoin
- Ripple
- Shiba Inu
- Solana
- Tether
- USDC

Prize Redemptions
When it comes to prize redemptions, FreeSpin Casino gives players three main options to choose from: Prizeout gift cards (delivered by email), cash prizes via bank wire transfer, or crypto payouts through Bitcoin or Tether.

Before redeeming, you’ll first need to complete KYC verification. The verification process is a bit more complicated than what I’ve seen at most other social casinos.
Along with a photo ID like a driver’s license, FreeSpin also asks for a proof of address document (such as a utility bill or bank statement from within the last 90 days). If you previously made a purchase with a debit or credit card, you may also need to provide photos of the front and back of the card.
And if you’re redeeming through bank wire transfer, you’ll need to submit a bank statement showing your name, account number, and routing information.
You’ll also need to meet the site’s minimum redemption requirements. Gift card prizes require at least 10 redeemable SC, while cash and crypto redemptions require at least 100 redeemable SC.
According to FreeSpin’s customer support team, redemption requests are usually processed within 3 business days. After approval, delivery speed depends on the redemption method you choose.

Gift card prizes are the fastest options and are typically delivered immediately after processing. Crypto payouts are usually the next quickest option, though they can still take up to 3 business days. Bank wire transfers take the longest and may require up to 10 business days to arrive.

Slots
FreeSpin’s slot selection is easily the biggest part of the site’s game library, which probably isn’t too surprising given the social casino’s name.
There are around 1,000 different slots available from more than two dozen software providers. The lineup includes games from bigger names like NetEnt, Relax Gaming, Betsoft, and Booming Games, along with smaller studios like DiceLab, which seems to make up a pretty large portion of the overall library.

The slots are grouped into several different categories like “Hold & Win” and “Bonus Hunt.” There’s also an “Exclusives” section featuring well over 100 DiceLab-exclusive slots, including games like Ally Aliens, Pop the Bank, and Quarterback Cashout.
One thing I really liked is that FreeSpin lists the theoretical Return-to-Player (RTP) percentage directly inside each game’s info section, usually near the top so you don’t have to scroll through a huge wall of text to find it.
That said, I’d still recommend checking the RTP before playing because the ranges vary pretty heavily across the site. For example, Book of Magery: Rich Chapter by Playnetic had an RTP of just 92.26%, while Book of 99 by Relax Gaming was listed at 99%.

Table Games & Live Dealers
FreeSpin social casino also has a surprisingly large live dealer section, with the total number of games getting close to 100 overall. Most of the live dealer content comes from two providers: ICONIC21 and Evolution.

The selection includes live dealer versions of popular table games like blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, and poker. There are also quite a few live game shows and other unique options mixed in, including titles like Dream Catcher, Stock Market, Marble Race, and Ice Fishing.
There’s also a separate “Card Games” section. It’s a lot smaller and overlaps with the live dealer library a bit, but it does include a few video poker options (like Bonus Poker, Lucky Video Poker) and virtual table games.
Scratch Cards, Keno, Arcade Games, & More
Besides slots and table games, FreeSpin Casino also has several other game types available, including keno, scratch cards, crash multiplier games, Plinko-style games, and arcade games.
Most of these specialty titles are grouped into the site’s “Fast Games” and “Casual” sections, and a lot of them come from providers like Betsoft, Galaxsys, Hacksaw Gaming, and ICONIC21.

I’d say the thing that surprised me most was the number of keno and Plinko options available. There are several different keno games on the site, including titles like Super Keno, Multi Play Keno, and Dan Marino Keno.
The Plinko selection is also bigger than what you’ll find at most other sweepstakes casinos, with games like Plinkoman, Bonus Mania Plinko, and Plinko Rush all available.
User Experience: Website & Mobile App
Like a lot of social casinos, especially newer ones, FreeSpin doesn’t currently have a dedicated mobile app available through the App Store or Google Play.
That said, you can still access the social casino through its website, freespin.com, on both iOS and Android devices. I tested the platform on mobile using my iPhone and on desktop using my MacBook, and overall, the experience felt very similar across both versions.

The biggest difference mostly comes down to layout and navigation. On mobile, there’s a navigation bar along the bottom of the screen with four main options: Menu, Profile, Games, and FunZone.

Other than that, pretty much all of the same features and functionality are available on both versions of the site, including the “FunZone” and the ability to build/customize your own Gold Coin package.
One thing I wasn’t a huge fan of is that the live chat support button and “Give Feedback” banner constantly hover near the bottom-right side of the screen on both mobile and desktop. They’re always visible and can get in the way a little at times, though I wouldn’t say it’s a major issue overall.
Is FreeSpin Casino Legit?
FreeSpin Casino is a legal social casino that uses the same promotional sweepstakes gameplay model as many other similar sites in this space.
That said, it’s not licensed or regulated by gambling authorities in the U.S. since it doesn’t offer traditional real-money gambling, so I think it’s always a good idea to dig a little deeper and do some extra research before signing up.
Here’s what I was able to find during my review.

Sweepstakes Rules
Let’s start with FreeSpin Casino’s official sweepstakes rules. The site includes a link to them at the bottom of the website, and I read through the entire page during my review.

For the most part, it’s all pretty standard stuff and very similar to the language and rules you’ll find at a lot of other social casinos. That said, there were a few details that stood out to me:
- Free Spins Winnings Cap: According to the sweepstakes rules, there’s a maximum cap on winnings from free spins. The limit is 2 SC for every 5 free spins awarded. So, for example, the no-deposit welcome bonus includes 20 free spins, meaning the maximum amount you can turn those into is 8 SC total. Any winnings beyond that amount won’t be credited to your account. I don’t necessarily think the rule itself is unfair, but I do wish it was explained more clearly upfront instead of being buried in the fine print.
- Game Odds & RTP Changes: The sweepstakes rules also state that FreeSpin Casino can change game odds or RTP percentages at any time. To be fair, this is something I’ve seen at quite a few other social casinos as well, but it’s still definitely worth being aware of.
- Sweeps Coin Expiration: FreeSpin Casino says Sweeps Coins expire after 60 days of account inactivity. That’s pretty similar to what a lot of other sweepstakes casinos do, but it’s still important to know because you could come back after a few months away and find that your SC balance has been reset to zero.
Ownership & Company Information
FreeSpin Casino is owned by a company also called “Free Spin,” though very little information about the operator is actually shared on the website or in the site’s terms and conditions.
Most legitimate social casinos clearly list the owner/operator near the bottom of the page alongside the sweepstakes rules and terms, usually including the company’s full legal name and registered business address. FreeSpin doesn’t really do that.
The only address I could find during my review was the PO box used for AMOE/mail-in requests for free Sweeps Coins: PO Box 147, Newark, NY 14513.
That’s not necessarily a dealbreaker on its own, but full transparency is always preferable, especially since players are spending money and sharing sensitive personal/payment information through the site.
What Other Players Are Saying About FreeSpin Casino
My next concern is that FreeSpin Casino currently has just a 2.6/5.0 rating on Trustpilot, though it’s based on only around 70 player reviews, which is still a fairly small sample size overall.

I read through the reviews during my research, and most of the complaints were related to long waits for KYC verification and prize redemptions. There were also several players upset about the maximum winnings cap attached to free spins and other free SC promotions.
That’s definitely something worth keeping in mind before signing up. At the same time, I will give FreeSpin some credit for replying to around 82% of negative reviews on Trustpilot, usually within about a week.
At the very least, that shows the company is actively monitoring feedback and attempting to respond to player concerns instead of completely ignoring them.
Responsible Play Tools
On a more positive note, I do think FreeSpin offers a decent set of responsible play tools and safety features compared to some other newer social casinos out there.

Players can contact support to set custom daily, weekly, or monthly spending limits on their accounts. The site also supports cooling-off periods, self-exclusion options, permanent account closure requests, and gameplay/transaction history tracking.
The only downside is that most of these tools can’t really be managed directly through your account settings.
Outside of the cooling-off feature (which can be set for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days), you’ll need to contact customer support to make changes or request restrictions, which is a bit inconvenient.
Customer Service & Help Options
There are three main ways to contact FreeSpin Casino’s customer support team if you need help: live chat, email, and phone support.
| Customer Support Option | Available? | Contact Information |
|---|---|---|
| Live Chat | ✅ | Tap the “Chat Bubble” icon on the website |
| ✅ | support@freespin.com | |
| Phone | ✅ | +1 (888) 457-1441 |
| FAQ / Help Center | ❌ | Not currently available |
During my review, I tested the live chat option a few different times, and overall, I was really impressed with the response times.
I was connected with a real human support agent (instead of an AI chatbot like some other sweepstakes sites use) almost immediately and usually received a reply within a minute or two.
That said, some of the answers did feel a bit generic or copy-and-pasted. For example, I asked one support agent named Nora how you can earn Tokens for the FunZone Store.
Instead of directly answering my question, she initially sent a long explanation about where the FunZone section was located on the website and how it worked in general.

Basically, it didn’t answer my question at all. But after a few more messages, I eventually got the clarification I was looking for, and overall, I’d still say the support experience was solid.
One thing missing, though, is an FAQ page or Help Center with articles answering common questions. That would make it much easier for players to quickly look things up on their own instead of needing to contact support every time.
What States Is FreeSpin Casino Legal In?
FreeSpin Casino is available in most U.S. states since it uses a promotional sweepstakes model instead of offering traditional real-money gambling. But like most social casinos, there are still a few state restrictions in place.
You can currently sign up and play at FreeSpin Casino in every U.S. state except Michigan and New Jersey.
There are also several states where players can only play with Gold Coins for fun and entertainment, meaning they won’t be able to use Sweeps Coins or redeem real prizes through the sweepstakes system. Those states are:
- California
- Connecticut
- Idaho
- Kentucky
- Montana
- Nevada
- New York
- Washington
Players also need to be at least 18 years old to join. Before redeeming any prizes, you’ll have to complete KYC verification to confirm both your age and state of residency.

Quick Comparison Breakdown
Compared to the competition, FreeSpin stands out in a few key areas while falling behind a bit in others.
Its no-deposit bonus is somewhat unique since it comes in the form of 20 free SC spins instead of directly giving players Sweeps Coins upfront. But because each spin is only worth 0.10 SC, the total value still works out to about 2 SC overall, which is pretty average and lower than what sites like Stake.us (25 SC) and Rolla (10 SC) currently offer.
The 100 SC minimum for cash prize redemptions is on the higher side, though the 10 SC gift card minimum is actually one of the lower redemption thresholds in the industry and matches sites like Chumba and Mega Bonanza.
FreeSpin also doesn’t currently offer a dedicated mobile app, which puts it a bit behind competitors like Crown Coins and RealPrize. On the other hand, its live dealer section is one of the biggest I’ve seen in the social casino space, and not every sweeps casino even offers live dealer games at all.
Like most platforms, FreeSpin has its pros and cons. It really just depends on what you care about most.
