5 Polymarket Markets to Watch in October 2026

October should be a very active month on Polymarket.
The Federal Reserve meets again, the Nobel Peace Prize and Ballon d’Or will both be awarded, and the entire MLB postseason will play out. October is also the final full month before the U.S. midterm elections on November 3. Here are five Polymarket markets worth keeping an eye on.
The Federal Reserve is back at the top of the list.
Polymarket’s October Fed market has already generated more than $14 million in trading volume, with a 25-basis-point increase currently priced above holding rates unchanged. The Federal Reserve meets on October 27–28, with the decision and press conference scheduled for October 28.
There is plenty of room for the market to move before then. Fed officials are already sending mixed signals: Governor Michael Barr has said further increases are likely to be needed, while New York Fed President John Williams said there is no urgency to move again immediately.
What to watch: Inflation, employment data and any shift in Fed commentary before October 28.
This one will not take long to resolve.
The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on October 9, according to the official Nobel Prize schedule, and the corresponding Polymarket market has already attracted more than $23 million in volume.
Unlike a sports market where performances keep providing new information, there is very little public information about the actual Nobel selection process. The Norwegian Nobel Committee does not publish its shortlist, and nominations remain confidential for 50 years. That gives traders relatively little concrete information to work with before the announcement.
What to watch: Very little, frankly. That is part of what makes this market interesting. The winner is announced October 9.
October is basically one long repricing event for the World Series market.
More than $41 million has already been traded, with the Los Angeles Dodgers currently around the 30% range and Milwaukee, Tampa Bay and the Yankees among the next group. Every playoff series will remove contenders and dramatically change the remaining prices.
MLB has scheduled Game 1 of the World Series for October 23, with a possible Game 7 on October 31. That means the entire story could play out inside the month.
What to watch: Injuries, starting pitching and, obviously, who survives each round of the postseason.
We mentioned this market in September too, but it has become much more interesting.
Polymarket now has more than $41 million in trading volume on the 2026 Ballon d’Or market, with Lamine Yamal and Harry Kane trading almost level at the top as October begins.
Soon we will know. UEFA has confirmed that the award will be presented in London on October 26.
What to watch: Any final reporting around the vote and, ultimately, the October 26 ceremony.
The election itself is not until November 3, but October will be the final full month of trading before Americans vote.
Polymarket has built an entire midterms hub covering control of the House and Senate, individual races, governors and ballot measures. Its House-control market has already generated about $13 million in volume, while roughly $5 million has traded on Senate control.
The Federal Election Commission confirms that the federal general election takes place on November 3, putting October right in the middle of the final campaign stretch.
What to watch: Changes in the major House and Senate markets as Election Day approaches
That is what makes October more interesting than September.
The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on October 9. The Ballon d’Or follows on October 26. The Fed makes its next decision on October 28, while the World Series could finish as late as October 31.
The midterms then arrive just three days later.
Instead of watching long-term markets drift around for another month, several of October’s biggest Polymarket markets are approaching the point where traders are going to find out who was right.
