Key Storylines
Recent form
- The Jets enter 20-24-7 overall and 8-14-2 on the road. They have lost two games in a row and four of their last five, and they need to step things up to get a win tonight.
- The Devils sit 27-23-2 and 12-9-2 at home for the year. The Devils had a three-game winning streak snapped in their last outing, dropping a 4-2 game on the road to the Seattle Kraken.
- These teams met January 11 with Winnipeg winning 4-3 on their home rink.
Goaltending
- Connor Hellebuyck’s season line shows a .902 save rate with a 2.69 goals-against average. He has been solid since returning from injury, but that hasn't been enough to make the Jets a Western Conference contender.
- Jake Allen is going to get the start for the Devils here and he has a 2.61 GAA going into Tuesday night. If he can outperform Hellebuyck in this game, the Devils will have a huge upper hand overall.
Key skaters
- Winnipeg: Mark Scheifele leads the Jets with 61 points on 25 goals and 36 assists.
- Winnipeg shooters to watch: Kyle Connor’s shot volume remains a reliable prop angle against a Devils team allowing close to 30 shots per game.
- New Jersey: Nico Hischier has 39 points and centers the top unit, while Jesper Bratt paces the club in assists with 26. Jack Hughes has provided plenty of chance creation since returning and boosts the first power play line.
Betting Trends & H2H
- Winnipeg is 1-0 against the Devils so far this season.
- The over is 30-20 in games involving the Jets so far this year.
- The under is 29-22 in Devils games so far this season.
Jets vs Devils Model Projection
Score Projection: Winnipeg 2 – New Jersey 3
Win Probability: Winnipeg 47%, New Jersey 53%
Final Thoughts
The Devils are playing some high-level hockey lately, even if they did lose to Seattle in their most recent outing. I'll go with the Devils to keep playing well in this game and for them to cash on the moneyline against a Jets squad that still has plenty of concerns to address.
