Avalanche vs Blue Jackets Player Props: MacKinnon to Score?

Updated November 3, 2026

Updated November 3, 2026

The Colorado Avalanche have scored 15 goals in their last three games, and Nathan MacKinnon remains at the center of their offense. With Columbus struggling defensively, Tuesday's matchup offers a few interesting NHL player-prop opportunities on Kalshi.
Colorado enters November 3 on a three-game winning streak, including Monday's 5–2 victory over Chicago. The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, have lost two straight and sit at 5-7-0.
Our preferred position is Nathan MacKinnon to score at least one goal, with Kalshi offering YES at 42¢.

1+ Goal · YES
MacKinnon has nine goals and 59 shots through 15 games. Colorado's offense is finding its rhythm, and Columbus has struggled defensively. At 42¢, his goalscorer contract offers a modest potential advantage.

MacKinnon's nine goals and 25 points place him among the NHL's most productive offensive players through the opening month. More importantly for this particular market, he's averaging almost four shots on goal per game.
He's scored in seven of his 15 appearances, including goals against Calgary and New Jersey in his last three games.
That distinction matters. Nine goals in 15 games is impressive, but what interests us is how often MacKinnon actually gets on the scoresheet as a goalscorer. Multiple goals in one game don't help a 1+ Goal contract any more than a single goal would.
His seven scoring appearances translate to a 46.7% hit rate this season. That's a relatively small sample, but it provides some useful context against Kalshi's 42¢ price.
MacKinnon also benefits from playing alongside Artturi Lehkonen and Martin Necas. Lehkonen has been especially productive, scoring 12 goals through 15 games, while Necas continues to provide creativity on Colorado's top line.
The Avalanche don't depend entirely on MacKinnon to score, as Monday's victory demonstrated. Nazem Kadri and Jaden Schwartz both scored twice against Chicago, while MacKinnon finished with an assist.
Still, MacKinnon remains one of Colorado's most reliable sources of scoring opportunities.
At 42¢, we're comfortable taking the YES position. At 48–50¢, the potential advantage becomes considerably less attractive.
Colorado has won three consecutive games by identical 5–2 scores, defeating New Jersey, Calgary and Chicago.
That's 15 goals across three appearances, with production coming from several different parts of the lineup.
The Avalanche are particularly dangerous when their top offensive players establish possession. MacKinnon, Makar and Necas can all create opportunities, while Lehkonen has been excellent at finishing them.
Columbus hasn't been particularly convincing defensively.
The Blue Jackets have conceded 39 goals through 12 games, an average of 3.25 per contest. They've also struggled to generate consistent offense, which could give Colorado opportunities to control possession.
However, there's one important concern.
The Avalanche played in Chicago on Monday and now face Columbus on consecutive nights. That quick turnaround could affect their intensity, particularly in the later stages of the game.
It's one reason we're keeping our confidence at 3/5 rather than treating MacKinnon as an automatic selection.
Kalshi Price: 52¢
Makar has recorded 13 assists and 16 points through 15 games, continuing to play a central role in Colorado's offense.
He also has an excellent record against Columbus, registering 17 points in 10 career meetings, including 11 assists.
There's a good argument for targeting Makar's playmaking against a Blue Jackets team that has struggled defensively.
The issue is price.
Kalshi lists the 1+ Assist YES contract at 52¢, slightly above its displayed market probability of 51%.
We'd prefer an entry closer to 48–50¢ before making Makar our primary selection.
Kalshi Price: 47¢
Necas has 11 assists and 18 points through 15 appearances, giving Colorado another consistent offensive contributor.
His position alongside MacKinnon and Lehkonen creates opportunities to collect assists, particularly when Colorado's leading scorers are producing.
Necas also has 17 assists in 27 career meetings with Columbus.
At 47¢, he's worth considering. However, Kalshi's displayed probability is 46%, and we don't see a compelling enough advantage to prioritize him over MacKinnon.
Kalshi Price: 64¢
Werenski is perhaps the most interesting Columbus alternative.
The defenseman has 10 assists through 12 games and remains an important part of the Blue Jackets' offensive structure. He also enters Tuesday riding
