The Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild will lock horns on Friday in one of the highlights of the Black Friday slate on the ice. Colorado enters riding a 10-game winning streak and they are skating circles around the rest of the league. Minnesota is also on fire of late and will look to extend their winning streak in this matchup. Before the puck is dropped in Minnesota, you can find my Avalanche vs Wild prediction right here.

Colorado is playing their best hockey of the season and the best hockey in the league. The Avalanche are 17-1-5 overall and have strung together 10 straight wins. Their latest win came in a dominant 6–0 shutout over the San Jose Sharks, extending a shutout streak across three games.
Minnesota has also hit a hot streak, collecting six straight wins and posting an 8–1–1 record over their last 10 outings. The Wild will try to end the historic hot streak of the Avs in this matchup to keep their own winning streak alive and well.
Colorado will turn to Scott Wedgewood, who carries a 13-1-2 record this season with a 2.09 goals-against average and .918 save percentage. Wedgewood has been a huge reason for Colorado's success so far this season.
Minnesota’s Jesper Wallstedt has been impressive in net as well. He recently blanked the Winnipeg Jets with 32 saves, marking his third shutout this season. His .935 save percentage and 1.94 GAA across eight starts make him a formidable presence in net. The Wild may go with Filip Gustavsson instead, but Wallstedt is the hotter netminder at the moment.
Colorado is powered by Nathan MacKinnon, who leads the team with 18 goals and 21 assists. Cale Makar and Martin Necas also play key roles in generating offense from multiple lines. Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov remains the centerpiece for the Wild. He has 14 goals and 14 assists this season. Matt Boldy has the same numbers, forming a dynamic duo of sorts with Kaprizov.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Nathan MacKinnon | Over 1.5 total points |
Kirill Kaprizov | Over 0.5 total points |
Cale Makar | Over 0.5 assists |
Score Projection: Colorado 4 – Minnesota 2
Win Probability: Colorado 65%, Minnesota 35%
Right now, I need to see the Avs lose a game before I bet against them. Colorado is playing at such a high level on both ends of the ice and I expect that to continue here. I'll take the Avs to win this contest on the moneyline and for them to continue their run of dominance.
