The Detroit Lions host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, November 1, in an NFC North matchup at Ford Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
Minnesota has been one of the NFL's biggest surprises so far, starting 6-0 behind a defense that ranks among the league's best. Detroit, meanwhile, has one of the NFL's highest-scoring offenses, setting up an interesting matchup between two teams with very different strengths.
For this game, I've picked out three NFL player props that I think offer value at their current Polymarket prices. Below, I'll break down my picks for Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Justin Jefferson, along with the stats, trends, and matchups supporting each prediction.
Consistent Production and Volume
Goff has cleared 249.5 passing yards in five of six games (83.3%) this season, averaging 298 yards per game and 8.0 yards per attempt. He's thrown for at least 269 yards in five straight starts and attempted 32+ passes in five of six games.
Play-Action and Blitz Success
Goff ranks second in the NFL with 9.7 yards per attempt on play-action passes, while Minnesota ranks 26th defensively, allowing 8.5 yards per attempt against play-action. He also leads qualified quarterbacks in EPA per dropback against the blitz, which could help neutralize Brian Flores' aggressive defensive scheme.
Minnesota's Weak QB Competition
The Vikings rank first in defensive EPA and allow just 6.1 yards per pass attempt, but they've faced relatively weak quarterback competition, including Daniel Jones, Tyler Shough, and Malik Willis. Goff presents a tougher challenge, leading a Detroit offense that ranks second in offensive EPA and fourth in plays per game.

Recent Struggles Against Minnesota
Gibbs was held to just 25 and 41 rushing yards in his two meetings with the Vikings last season, averaging only 2.5 yards per carry. He received just 9 and 17 carries in those games, finishing below 69.5 yards both times.
Declining Rushing Efficiency
Gibbs is averaging 4.6 yards per carry this season, down from 5.0 in 2025 and 5.6 in 2024. He's also recorded just two runs of 20+ yards on 134 carries (1.5%), compared with 10 on 243 carries (4.1%) last season. Without those explosive gains, he'll likely need more carries to reach 70 yards.
Potentially Reduced Rushing Workload
Gibbs missed Wednesday's practice with a shoulder injury after recording 166 touches through six games, including 29 carries last week. Minnesota also leads the NFL in blitz frequency, while Gibbs ranks second among running backs in target rate against the blitz. Between the injury concerns and his potential receiving role, Gibbs could see fewer carries than usual.

Limited Recent Production
Jefferson has finished under 69.5 receiving yards in three of five games (60%) this season, averaging 60.4 yards per game. He was also held to just 47 and 30 receiving yards in his two meetings with Detroit last season.
Minnesota's Run-Heavy Offense
The Vikings are averaging just 27.3 pass attempts per game with a -4.2% pass rate over expected. Jefferson is still averaging an impressive 2.6 yards per route run, but he's seeing only 6.2 targets per game, limiting his chances of putting up big numbers.
More Competition for Targets
Hockenson has been targeted on 28% of his routes this season, and both he and Jordan Addison are expected to play Sunday. Detroit has allowed more receiving yards to tight ends than any other team, so Hockenson could see plenty of opportunities against his former team.

Despite Minnesota's 6-0 start and 2-0 record against Detroit last season, it's the Lions who enter Sunday's matchup priced as the favorites. Detroit is trading at 62.5¢ on Polymarket, implying a 62.5% chance of winning, while the spread is set at Lions -3.5 (48¢ to cover).
The over/under is set at 45.5 points, with the over trading at 51¢. That's the lowest total for a Lions game so far this season, suggesting the market expects a lower-scoring matchup than Detroit is used to. Interestingly, our Vikings vs. Lions prediction model sees value on the underdog Minnesota Vikings.
I expect a close game, too, which lines up with the relatively tight spread. Minnesota will be looking to prove its undefeated start is no fluke, while Detroit has a chance to make a statement against a division rival.
I also expect both defenses to focus on limiting the other team's biggest offensive weapon: Jahmyr Gibbs for Detroit and Justin Jefferson for Minnesota. That's part of why I'm backing the under on both players' yardage props, while still looking for Jared Goff to clear 249.5 passing yards, especially with Minnesota's aggressive blitzing defense potentially creating opportunities through the air.
