The Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks will meet in a game between two teams that were active in the trade market this season. Atlanta’s front office moved on from Trae Young in January, bringing in CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. Atlanta also traded Kristaps Porzingis to Golden State in a deal that brought in Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield, while Utah just acquired former DPOY Jaren Jackson Jr. ahead of the deadline. Before these new-look rosters do battle in Atlanta, continue reading for my Jazz vs Hawks prediction.
Our Utah Jazz vs Atlanta Hawks Pick
Pick: Jazz +9.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: 1/5
Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Utah Jazz @ Atlanta Hawks
- Date & Time: Thursday, February 5, 2026, 7:30 PM ET
- Venue: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
- Broadcast: NBA League Pass
Key Storylines
- Availability watch: For Utah, Keyonte George and Jusuf Nurkic are listed as out. Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, and Vince Williams Jr. are out due to recent transaction logistics. Kevin Love is also listed out. For Atlanta, Kuminga, Hield, and Onyeka Okongwu are out, with Duop Reath and N’Faly Dante sidelined long term. We are going to see both rosters look very little like what they are expected to look like later in the season.
- Form guide: Utah had dropped 5 straight before grabbing a win over the Indiana Pacers in their last matchup. Atlanta has won 3 of its past 5 and they snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the Miami Heat in their last contest.
- Usage hubs: Lauri Markkanen paces Utah at 27.4 ppg, while Jalen Johnson drives Atlanta with a 23.1/10.5/8.0 line. Both of those players will need to play at an incredibly high level for their team to win this game, as they have very little help around them thanks to all of the trade activity that has taken place.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Past meetings: Atlanta leads the season series 1-0 after a 132-122 win in Salt Lake City on November 13, 2025. Last season’s two meetings also went to Atlanta.
- The Hawks are 26-26 against the spread going into this contest.
- Utah is 27-24 against the spread entering Thursday's action.
- The over is 31-20 in Jazz games so far this season.
- Atlanta is 27-25 to the over going into this matchup.
Jazz vs Hawks Model Projection
Score Projection: Jazz 116 – Hawks 122
Win Probability: Jazz 32%, Hawks 68%
Final Thoughts
This is a game where it is hard to feel confident in either side to come away with a win. These teams both changed their rosters dramatically before the trade deadline and it is entirely possible that they aren't done making moves either. For now, I would recommend taking the points with the Jazz thanks to all of the absences on both sides of this game. But I wouldn't feel all that confident in either team to win here given the lack of continuity on both benches.
