The Toronto Raptors head to Chicago on Wednesday night looking to steady their form, while the Bulls return home following one of their more complete performances of the season. Toronto has dominated the season series between these teams this year, but Chicago will be motivated to avoid a season sweep against an Eastern Conference opponent. Here, I break down this matchup and bring you my Raptors vs Bulls prediction.
Toronto enters this contest in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, but recent inconsistency has raised concerns. The Raptors have gone 2-2 in their last four games, including losses where defensive lapses and rebounding issues surfaced. Still, they remain dangerous thanks to a balanced offensive attack and improved defensive metrics compared to earlier in the season.
Chicago, meanwhile, has struggled overall but is coming off an emphatic win over Memphis in which the offense clicked at a high level. That performance highlighted the Bulls’ upside when their young core plays efficiently and shares the ball. The issue has been sustaining that level over multiple games, as Chicago has sat well below .500 and is outside the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference.
Chicago Bulls
Toronto Raptors
Stat | Raptors | Bulls |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 113.6 | 116.0 |
Points allowed per game | 111.9 | 120.0 |
Team Field Goal % | 47% | 47% |
Rebounds per game | 42.5 | 45.1 |
Assists per game | 28.7 | 28.8 |
Toronto holds the edge entering this matchup due to its more reliable defensive profile and balanced scoring. While Chicago’s offense can go off at any time, the team still allows 120 points per game, which creates a difficult path against a Raptors squad that shares the ball well and ranks among the league leaders in assists. But I'm inclined to take the points with the Bulls here, as they should show some heart against an inconsistent Raptors team, even if Toronto ultimately wins the game outright by a slim margin.
